We are very excited about the upcoming 2009 "Personal Best" Middle Eastern Dance Competition
The competition will take place July 18th & 19th, 2009 at the Groveport Town Hall outside of Columbus, OH. On the pages that follow, you will find a variety of information.

We are a small, FRIENDLY event! We welcome all styles and ages: Egyptian, Turkish, good old mixed nightclub style, Lebanese, American NeoTribal, what-have-you; just keep the Judging Criteria in mind.
Categories are for newer dancers, up-and-coming dancers, pros, troupe, and we are unique in that we have judges who are well-versed enough to have a folkloric category! We also have an Ethics essay competition, as that is one of my 'personal causes.' We do NOT have categories divided by age. I expect the judges to see around that as well as any other non-criteria 'traps.'
I pick judges on knowledge, ethics and their ability to get rid of ANY bias, or step out of that category. What I want is for those contestants who are interested to get the most informed, best feedback they possibly can.
We also need and celebrate volunteers.
If you want to just come see what it's about, you can work a 2-hour shift and get in free to one segment of the contest as an observer. We could not run our contest without our many volunteers!
