Description & Uses

Sweet Cecily is fern-like in appearance and can grow to 3' in height.  The leaves may be up to 18" in length and are light green with a 'down' on the underside, white markings may appear later in the season. The stem is furrowed, hollow and branched with a downy surface.  The plants have a thick brown taproot that has white aromatic flesh.

Leaves may used in omelettes and added to soups and stews.  Roots may be used raw in salads or cooked as a root vegetable.
