I gave my life to Jesus at about Christmas time 2001.

I grew up in a Christian home until about the age of 8 which was when my Mum and Dad Split up. in the following 8 years I got into smoking, drinking and eventually started smoking cannabis and doing other drugs. now I realise that there was a big hole in my life and I was trying to fill it with drugs. This gradually made me un happy and I wasn't satisfied with the person I was.

In the summer time of 2001 my brother and best friend gave his life to God. My brother had a similar state of mind as myself and when he gave his life to God. I witnessed a huge change in his life. He seemed much happier within himself and he had a real peace about him. the change in my brothers life was a massive transformation, but I still tried to deny the fact that God had changed his life for the better.

When I finally accepted the truth about what happened to my brother, I was alone in my room. I simply spoke to God saying that i was sorry for all the bad stuff I've done wrong. in that moment I felt a supernatural peace fill my body. it felt like a burden was taken off my shoulders. I didn't realise until about a year later that Jesus in that moment had forgiven my sin.

Since then the hole in my life has been more than filled. I don’t do drugs or drink anymore because I don’t need them. God makes me feel good and happy. when I pray to God he gives me a better high than I could ever get from drugs. God has given my life purpose Coz he says that he has great plans for me, plans to give me a hope and future.

I’m no longer dissatisfied with the person I am and I’m not bothered what people think about me coz God loves me just as I am. I feel like the luckiest person alive to have Jesus as my best friend.
