Updated 3rd October 2009.

I seem to be writing this a lot lately but Jamie Lewis is certainly setting the World alight with his blistering performances in the Youth World Cup last week. His playing average throughout the tournament was a sensational 29 plus and he is still only coming up to 18 years of age. What a future he must have if he sticks to darts. Well done Jamie, and even if Wales is finding it hard to put something on their webb, you can be sure that Pembrokeshire recognises your successes and wish you even more in the future.

Still on the World Cup, it was a mixed bag of goods with the men only finishing 8th which was a very disapointing result but congratulations go to David Smith-Hayes on getting to the last 8 in the Singles. All the Welsh men finished with International averages and were to be complimented on their excellent behaviour in America.

Our Ladies were robbed of the title by pure professionalism physcology from the American womens Captain against our Julie Gore.I won't go into too much detail in this reports suffice to say that if the WDF had any teeth they would have banned the American from the finals. Julie can tell you more on this matter. She lost in the final and her and Rhian finished third overall. Both played good darts throughout the tournament and if Julie had won, they would have taken the cup home with them.

Our squads are away to Gloucestershire this weekend and we wish them all the very best of luck.

A very special congratulations must go to Jamie Lewis for winning the Winmau Youth Tournament at Bridlington last weekend. he convincingly beat his opponent 4-1 and added another notch to his budding career. This should put him in good stead for the World Cup in a few weeks time when he will be representing Wales at Charlotte North Carolina in America. I am sure the whole County and indeed Wales will be wishing him well.

On behalf of my family I would like to thank all people who attended the funeral of my late wife Audrey. We were astounded by the amount of people who attended and we sincerely thank them. There were a lot of people who couldn't attend and I understand their absence and the thought that they were still thinking of us on this very sad occasion.

We received over 200 cards of condolences and flowers from a lot of people. The Fund that was set up for the Martin Roberts Childrens Fund is being well subscribed and we are slowly settling down and getting our lives back in order. I must admit that I still cannot believe that Audrey is not still with us and I felt a great lift when I saw all those people at the Funeral Service and at the Cemetary. Thank you all once again and we'll see you soon at the first County Game AWAY to Gloucestershire.
