Giving
A number of years ago the Church made a commitment to give away 10% of its income to the work of mission beyond the local church. This might be to Baptist work such as Home Mission or BMS World Mission. We are also generous supporters of Christian Aid, and make regular contributions to the work of the Leprosy Mission, Spurgeons, and the Gideons.
We regularly support mission in its widest sense and in a local setting. We have recently supported the Derby branch of Samaritans; Street pastors; and have made donations to the Neo natal Units at the Royal Derby hospital and the Birmingham children’s hospital where we currently have close connections.
During our settled pastorate we made a point of having a mission focus as part of our Morning Service each month. Sometimes this might include the use of DVD.
