PETER T. LIMON

               A PEARL HARBOR SURVIVOR

Stories of Pride, Prejudice & Prostitutes

By Peter T. Limon

Peter Limon was 17 when he joined the U.S. Navy. This was during rough financial times in history. Without a mother, the navy would become Peter's home. He was proud to be a Mexican-American boy, now a part of America's finest. The prospects of learning, and travel and flying were beyond his wildest dreams. Little did he know that he would be there, One Day In Infamy, when America suffered it's worst blow in history.

Peter tells tales, that even to this day in 2008 he hasn't heard anyone else tell. He believes that some of his stories accurately record events that until now haven't been recorded - stories of pride, prejudice and prostitutes.

More importantly, he believes that a tale from this Pearl Harbor Survivor could help, even if in some small way, so history won't repeat itself. Why did this horrific attack happen? Peter knows. He tells you in his book.

About the author:

At 85 in 2008, Peter Limon has stories to tell that he wishes he didn't. It was so long ago, and yet it seems like yesterday. He joined the navy, a lad of 17, from a Mexican-American family. His mother had died when he was only two. The excitement of joining the navy was something he eagerly anticipated since the age of 15 when his father passed away. On his own he had to find a way to survive - but he was also a young man ready for adventure. He wanted to fly, he wanted to travel, he wanted to meet people. Peter could speak both Spanish and English. Because his father was of European descent, Peter inherited the lighter skin. When Peter was young, he was often mistaken for being from Europe, instead of Mexico.

Peter has delighted audiences of magazines, newspapers, radio stations and more. He has the ability to bring out the emotional side of story because he genuinely feels what others are feeling. He and another "silver" veteran visit groups of recruits heading for Camp Pendleton every Monday night at Denny's in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Peter hopes that his story will live forever, but that the pain will not. To this end he hopes each new generation take the time to revisit the stories of America's past - and that his story is included.

"We'll Carry On"

Peter is a Pearl Harbor Survivor. This CD and website is a heartfelt project to benefit the families of wounded veterans. His vision is of being able to provide enough funds for family members to visit them, when they otherwise could not afford to. Songs on his CD are about the men and women marching off to war, a mother's grief over the loss of her son and then her resolve to carry on, because that what he (or she) would want her to do.
