Sorry There Are No Other Adoptable Pets Right Now.
To Speed Up The Process Of Adoption, Please Fill Out An Adoption Application.
When a dog matching your application's information/accesment comes in,
you will be notified and already approved!
Please check out the site, check out the past rescues all in new homes.
Carefully Read out Adoption Application, it's very neccesary for the right homes for our animals.
We take our contracts/applications VERY seriously and do check-ups on dogs from time to time.
If at ANY time you cannot care for the dog, he/she MUST be returned to PC's Pets. This stipulation has harsh consequences.
When thinking about adopting, make sure you're just as serious as us. Animals are not disposable, contrary to what many people believe.
Before the dogs are put up for adoption they go through several thourough exams for behavior and rehabilitation.
All potential adoptees are put through a temper test consisting of:
Dog/Cat/Child Test:
This test will indicate the behavioral status of the dog around other dogs/cats and children.
(The dog is completely secure putting no fake or real child, dog, and/or cat to be in the way of harm)
Dominant Eye Stare:
This indicates whether a dog is subordinate, dominant, or dominant-aggressive.
Food Test:
This indicates whether or not the dog is possesive/aggressive with food or toy possesions.
Hand-shy Test:
This test determines whether the dog has previously been abused verbally or physically.
Physical Sensitivity Test:
This will indicate whether the dog has an unusually low pain tolerance or sensitivity
which can be a problem for households with small children.
A dog who does not tolerate irritation to the body may act out aggressively.
Rollover Test:
This test will help indicate if a dog is dominant-aggressive or fear-aggressive.
Most potential adoptees are taken to a dog-friendly lake to socialize with other dogs/people and to get to know new terrain.
The way to rehabilitate a dog who doesn't know how to be a dog is to bring him back to the elements and start over.
The dogs are brought to new places, meet new people, new dogs, and new situations to ensure they're ready for in-home adoption.
Before leaving, we work on leash training, crate training, and basic obedience.
