Artist's Statement on Miths & Signs

Artist’s Statement

It’s very difficult to use words in order to synthesize any visual representation. This is not the intention of my message in "Peoples' Game". Instead, I would like to stress what was not the purpose of these series of images of the Pueblos in New Mexico.

The paintings displayed here are not a representation of value judgments of two different worlds and just one reality.  The exhibit it’s not an announcement, claim, or moan, and least, a cartoon.  It’s not a solution essay, nor an academic exercise. Neither is the fruit of a synergy which can be reached as a result of the collapse of two life systems.  It’s not an excuse or explanation. Fortunately, every image is blessed through individual perception, who grant or not, its own identity.

Thanks a lot, Ricardo Penuela-Pava
