ON THE NORFOLK BROADS
Friday 20th March 2009 – Monday 23rd March 2009
We are all booked and ready to go now !!! You are going to need 4 days off work, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Most of you have weekends off anyway). We will be meeting at 9.30am on Friday morning to drive down to Norfolk (which takes approx 5 hours). There will be probably 15 of us, so the idea is we all car share and go down in 3 cars. We can check the boat’s out at 3.30pm so this gives us enough time to get down there (with at least 2 McDonalds stops !!!!)
If anyone is struggling to take the Friday off work then let me know asap, as we could check out the boat at 3.30pm but not set sail until the Saturday morning. This would let anyone use Friday night to get there, but we need to set sail Saturday morning no later than 10am.
We have hired 2 Boats ‘The Broads Serenade’ And the Melody Cruiser
The sleeping arrangements are 6 people on the Melody and 9 on the Serenade. There will be a few people doing the old ‘top and tail’ but you can’t hire a boat with 9 single beds !!! I will come up with a boat plan of who is on which boat – So that everyone knows each other.
The cost is £80 per person, this is for 4 days and 3 nights. This includes fuel for the boat, accidental damage waiver and insurance. The only other costs that you will incur would be chipping in for petrol money to get there. The plan is if everyone brings a couple of crates of lager with them that will cover us for drinks on the boat. If we all chip in a bit of food for on the boat (bread, pot noodle, cereal etc) then we should have stuff for breakfast and dinner. Therefore the only other money you will need will be for your evening meal and drinks. I’m probably planning to not have a big night out – Just sailing and drinking during the day and moor up at a local pub for food and drinks on the nights.
I’m assuming that the total weekend shouldn’t cost you anymore than £200 (can’t even see it being that much!!) I have booked 2 boats to sleep 15 people. There are currently 21 people saying that they want to come. If this is still the case then i will book a 3rd boat. But at this point in time I’ve booked for 15 people (assuming we will have a few cockers)
If you are coming i need a £30 deposit. I have already put the deposit down on the boats on your behalf. So what i need everyone to do is let me know asap if you are coming either by text or email. Because if there is 21 i need to book 3rd boat asap before it’s gone. Once you have confirmed that you are coming if you can either give me the £30 deposit or post it to my address. This will leave a balance of £50, which is payable at any time but needs to be paid at least 10 weeks before we go. So by 9th January the full balance needs to be paid.

Anytime before 9th January 2009 call 01502 500555 and ask for Sandra, she will already have your details. And will be expecting everyone who is going to ring up and pay her the further £50. This gives you 4 months to sort out the payment. You can pay her in instalments if you want to.
The only other thing you need to be aware of is with us being an all male party, the boat station might ask each member for a small (refundable) cash deposit, basically to cover them if we wreck the boat (not on the agenda!!!!). We won’t know until we arrive there if they will want this – it’s the same as when you go abroad a lot of hotels do a similar thing. Hopefully they won’t – it just depends on how dodgy we look on the day !!!!!!

That’s about it I think, once i have everyone’s deposit i will let you all know who is coming and we will then work out how we are getting there and who is brining what food etc. Should be really good crack !!!
