Paul Mason's Thames Shipping

                         WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

After nearly 35 years in the Oil Tanker industry, the time came in October 1998 to take a rest. On leaving school i started work with Shell Tankers as a Navigating Apprentice and progressed to 2nd Mate in my seven years at sea, but i did not like the idea of working on VLCC's which was to be my next posting. Once ashore i took a job with Texaco as a Marine Operations Assistant which eventually lead  to the next 27 years of my life as a Tanker Chartering Broker with two of London's leading shipbroking companies, Arthur Rapp Ltd and finally Galbraith's Ltd where is served for over 22 years.

I am now able to concentrate more of my time to my hobby of shipping and ship photography. Living midway between Tilbury and Coryton gives me the ideal location to continue with my 'spotting' and taking photo's.

As well as being Chairman of the Thames Ship Society and a member of the World Ship Society, i still keep in regular contact with some of my old clients and still follow the shipping markets and general shipping news via my various contacts built up over the years.

I aim to regularly update this website whenever possible with a selection of news and ship photo's taken locally and on various trips to other locations, as well as a regular market report for other shipping enthusiast's like myself.

                                   DISCLAIMER NOTICE

Whilst i like to think that everything i attempt to do is done to the best of my ability, this website is beginning to cause me problems, not of my own doing. Whenever i publish everyting is in the right place and the headings and photo's are in the centre of the page etc etc. However the publisher sometimes feels the need to move things around or remove headings and offset photo's.

Furthermore Sponsor logo's are also appearing over which i have no control, and i would just like to say that if a Sponsor advert appears on this website, it does not mean that it has my approval or that i agree with the content. I hope that you understand it is beyond my control.
