Pat's Space

My internet name is Pattie and i live in Essex in the UK I am an Artist now retired from making money from it ! and a widow 6 years now,with two married sons living in the same town as me, and two grandchildren. In the 6 years since losing my husband, i have spent a lot of time chatting on the internet and working on my website.
The internet for me is my other world, I have met so many people from all over,Yes, the net can be a dangerous place,i have had some strange experiences,and really funny situations,its taught me a lot,it has opened my mind and given me itchy feet to travel,so it has been fantastic that i have had the chance to meet some of my internet friends,like my group in the USA lovely ladies they made me so welcome!
Most of the people i have met, have been through my website and my love of music,its so true,the saying........ music be the food of love,it sure is ! I always tried to define music and the power behind it,it can make you happy or sad.......this is the best definition i have found....... Music has been defined as generally as "organized sound" and specifically so as to require an entire book to define. A general definition may best be defined as "sounds and pitches organized in time to create a chosen artistic or aestetic statement." Music is both an art and a craft, based on acoustic principles, yet subject to various interpretations, hence its artistic merit. So true as my other passion being Art and Craft,it helps me a lot to play music while painting or crafting,it relax's (all depends on what you listen to though!) Art has been my life, starting with College in London,going on to work as a tracer in a drawing office,then studying landscape and all forms of Art in watercolour,pastel,oil etc.
That took me onto having my paintings published by a well known London publisher,what an experience that was !! then i decided to go freelance,working for agents,until retiring. But no, my art did not stop there,i can now do what i want,and self express myself in the form of art cards,altered books ,artist trading cards, anything goes,i just love to alter stuff :)thats where the internet plays a big part as i have met artists from all over the world to trade and learn new techniques.
I am a Catholic,my church and my faith are a great comfort to me,i am definitly not that holy,but God has been good to me most of the time, i have learnt to take the good and the bad,i often ask why, when he takes away the people i love.....but he must have a reason,when i think about it,i sometimes come up with the answer.
