It's certainly the most mainstream and well-received work I've ever done and that's incredibly rewarding. It's definitely given me my self-esteem back.
"Now, people are talking about me for the right things - as an actress, not as a celebrity and not just as someone's wife. That's a great feeling. |

Patsy extends Emmerdale contract
|
Patsy Kensit has signed a £120,000 deal to stay in Emmerdale for another year.
Producers are delighted that the actress has agreed to play villainous superbitch Sadie King in the ITV1 soap until December 2005.
They persuaded Patsy, 36, to sign up to the hit ITV1 soap after she hinted she could be eyeing other acting roles reports The Sun.
The deal means Patsy, who this week dodges a kiss under the mistletoe with Shadrach Dingle (Andy Devine), will become one of British soap's biggest leading ladies.
An insider said: "Producers are delighted that Patsy has signed for at least another year. They think her character Sadie has made a strong impact because viewers love to hate her.
"Emmerdale chiefs want more glamour in the Dales so were determined to keep Patsy on."
Patsy - who seduced Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2 - was talked into joining the ITV1 show by ex-husbands Liam Gallagher and Simple Minds' Jim Kerr.
Producers say she has been an instant hit. She has found it tough filming in Leeds four days a week, leaving sons James and Lennon at her London home with a nanny. |

Serial rock wife Patsy Kensit has vowed never to get married again - after three failed unions with musicians.
The British actress has married and divorced Big audio dynamite's Dan Donovan, simple minds singer Jim Kerr and Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher - but has claimed she will never walk down the aisle again.
She explains, "I really don't think I'll ever do that again. Marriage truly hasn't worked for me. If I ever fall in love again, we might have separate homes.
"Love and romance are absolutely wonderful, but I've overdosed on them. I'm single now and absolutely loving it."
Kensit, now starring in British soap Emmerdale, has blamed Gallagher for causing her to undergo several cosmetic surgery operations.
She says, "I put my hand up and admit I did some stupid stuff. When relationships fall apart, you do some desperate things. You really hope you can make it better, whether it's through breast surgery or whatever.
"I was with somebody who was into all those things, but it's really not healthy and it's just not right. I know that finally." |

Patsy is loving her
new life in Yorkshire.
|
With a string of juicy storylines Patsy Kensit is relishing her new role as Emmerdale superbitch Sadie King. The actress, who has appeared in more than 40 films, loves spending time in Yorkshire but admits the colder weather took a while getting used to. "I just love it here in Yorkshire. You have the beauty of the countryside and a great city centre." she told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "But when I first started filming in May I was freezing, in May. I was such a wimp, wearing layer after layer, but now I am toughening up and getting used to the weather. "I love spending time outside and the village set is in such a beautiful place with lots of wildlife. "Sadie goes out riding and my horse in the show, Magic is beautiful. I'm having a ball working on Emmerdale. I get the best of both worlds, to dress up in all the outdoorsy Barbour clothes and be glamorous in a chic dress in the next scene." The Emmerdale costume department are lucky enough to be able to borrow clothes from Patsy's own wardrobe. "If Sadie really needs to dress up for a special occasion, I sometimes bring some of my own clothes and shoes," admits Patsy. Sadie has been a success with the viewers, demonstrated by Patsy's nomination for Best Newcomer award in the British Soap Awards. "Sadie has been horrible," said Patsy, "But I'm having a ball playing her. "I get to behave so badly and do things I would never do in real life." The latest Sadie King storyline has meant Patsy has been filming every day. But a series of middle of the night dashes down the M1 to her London home has meant she can spend time with her boys James, 12 and Lennon, 5. "I miss them so much when I am filming. We still live in London because James is at that age where it would be unfair to take him out of school and away from his friends." "I love being up here. It might be different if James was younger but he's been at the same school since he was five and will be there until he is 17." In the current sizzling plot, viewers are watching Sadie seduce toyboy Robert Sugden, played by Karl Davies. Patsy said: "When I first heard about the storyline, I said 'but he looks like one of James's friends, so boyish and young.'. "But Karl is so adorable and we had a lot of fun filming those scenes." Talking to Patsy, it is clear that she is loving her time on Emmerdale and has great respect and admiration for those she works with. She is a consummate professional who takes her job seriously, but more than anything she loves being a mother to her two boys. "This Christmas," she says, "I am going to be at home with my boys and enjoy every minute with them. It is going to be wonderful."
