Welcome to the 2008-2009 Pathways website for students. Students will post their reflections here weekly. Reflective thought is a higher level thinking skill and we want to develop that! Please leave comments so I can respond to you. I'd love to know what you think about our class and the activities and projects. We have a very busy year in front of us and I know we will all be successful in everything we attempt.

Our stock market competition kicks off in September. I look forward to seeing your progress in this event. We will be working and paying bills throughout this project as part of our economics unit. We will end the event with Crossing City - always a fun day - so be on the lookout now for a very large box to use to make your store.

We will begin FPS in October.

Currently, we are working on our first creative writing project. It is due by Progress Report time, so make sure you have something to turn in to me. Be certain to have at least three of your peers review and edit your work before you submit it to me.

Our next creative writing assignment will be based on the FPS topic Olympics. Start thinking about where you want to go with this story.

Science Olympiad - 7th grade will be building the Write plane. 6th graders have signed on to build the bridge, the robot, the scrambler, and trebuchet. I look forward to seeing the creativity in your designs. You should research these builds at www.soinc.com so you can be prepared.
