A theatrical company for young adults!

The Performing Arts Fund

A message from our managing director Ziggie Sky Ward, July 2009:

"In June 2009, I was offered a place at the new Musical Theatre Academy, a drama conservatoire in London. The cost of drama training is high, and my fee's alone totalled to £24,000 for two years (£12,000 a year / £3000 a term). With most drama schools, it is possible to find or apply for bursaries and student loans, however as MTA is a brand new college, I have to find at least £12,000 to cover my first year, and then hopefully MTA will become eligible for Career Development Loans for my second year. I also have to find around £300 to cover my equipment list, and as I will be commuting, find money for travel and lunch. Although I have two part-time jobs and have just taken on a third, I am not earning enough to cover my fee's and my general monthly costs, so I have had to look for other ways to fund my training.
As I started to try and raise money, I found that I recieved an incredible amount of support, but finding sponsors, donors and bursaries proved almost impossible, as a lot of factors stood in my way; some do not donate to individuals, others only donate to certain parts of the country, and more.
I have a firm belief that talent lies in all different types of people, from different backgrounds, and sometimes, the most talented have to miss out due to lack of funds, and I wanted to make sure that these people were not brushed aside."

So knowing the extreme financial worry for prospective drama students, Ziggie decided that she wanted to create a performing arts fund, so that once she had found the finances to cover her training, she could help others. Ziggie's Performing Arts Fund was born. As the fund is a brand new idea, we are currently not quite set up, and so we are not yet a registered fund and have a lot of work to do, however rest assured that we will be up and running in the near future. We will accept any donation, large or small, as we feel that every little helps and EVERYTHING counts!

We will carefully study and reply to each applicant, however unfortunately we will not be able to help everyone, and those we do help, due to the fact we are currently a very small fund, we may only be able to provide a small amount, however rest assured we will do our very best to help everyone that we can.
