Hi! It’s Gabrielle,
I just wanted to take a few lines to talk about our focus as young ladies who follow Christ. I really have been thinking about purity and my Christian walk these last few days. My mother gave me some very wise counsel….she said, “ Don’t loose your focus on Christ, Purity is a wonderful topic but it can’t become the god”, and that is true! If we focus so much on purity and not on our walk and relationship with Christ, we gain nothing. We must FIRST surrender every area of our lives to Christ. But we can only willingly do that after a true salvation, When we truly know that all the wrath He took upon himself was due me and that by His sheer mercy and grace. I am forgiven of every past, present and future sin, every secret sins within the dark recesses of my heart. Remember the heart is desperately wicked, who can know it. Remember the one who grasps how much you desperately needs God’s forgiveness loves much. See Mark 7. If we fall in love with Jesus and grow deep with Him, He will THEN GIVE us the desire to have a Passion4Purity. We would want to live for Him in every area. Just as a bride would not consider walking down the aisle in a torn dress with dirt on her face, and hair straggled, nor will we want to present ourselves to Christ this way as HIS bride. ROMANS 12:2 “Offer your body as a living sacrifice, this is your spiritual act of worship”. I have realized that I have made a mistake by stressing purity without first emphasizing that the power to walk within these convictions can only come from the Lord HIMSELF. OTHERWISE WE HAVE A FORM OF GODLINESS BUT NO POWER. All we need to do is concentrate on the saving Grace of Jesus. Purity is a wonderful subject matter to discuss BUT it should never become more important than our relationship with our Lord. Our passion MUST be centered around Jesus. As John the Baptist said, He must increase and I must decrease. We cannot have our thinking shaped by the culture by only by the word of God. And no matter how many times we fall down, Even though this website talks about purity, we need to have a passion for Him. Is your heart on fire for Him? How close are you walking with your Lord? What is your passion?
In Christ,
Gabrielle
