Oh No! A Crush!! What should I do?
Okay, so before you panic when you have a crush; let me tell you, you are not the only girl in this world who will have a crush on a boy. Crushes are natural as we are growing up, a crush itself is not sinful, it's just how you should handle the situation. Here are some suggestions of what not to do when you have a crush:
- Don't talk about him with your friends. (Now, don't get me wrong on this suggestion; If you really have to tell a close friend whom you know will be able to help you, go for it! Otherwise, it's best not to talk about him with your friends who might distract you in your walk with the Lord).
- Don't intentionally do anything that will stir up more thoughts about him(i.e. don't put up pictures of him up on your wall
). - Don't tell him how you feel about him or give any indications that you might be interested.
- Don't dwell on thoughts of him or let yourself get carried away with your dreamy imaginations.
One thing that I would do, is to, of course, pray about it and give it to the Lord Almighty. If you really feel that he's the one for you, know that if he really is the right one, God has apparently already started the work of bringing you together and will fulfill what He has begun in His perfect time and way.
Another thing that I would do whenever I might have the slightest interest in a boy is to talk it over with my mom. You know, it really helps when you get it out to someone you can trust; someone who will be able to help guide you in these struggles and make the right decisions.
