Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?
Words & Music: S.Twain/R.J. Lange
Whose bed have your boots been under?
Whose bed have your boots been under?
And whose heart did you steal I wonder?
This time did it feel like thunder, baby?
Whose bed have your boots been under?
Don't look so lonely
Don't act so blue
I know I'm not the only
Girl you run to
I know about Lolita
Your little Spanish flame
I've seen you around with Rita
The redhead down the lane
Chorus:
Whose bed have your boots been under?
And whose heart did you steal I wonder?
This time did it feel like thunder, baby?
And who did you run to?
And whose lips have you been kissin'?
And whose ear did you make a wish in?
Is she the one that you've been missin', baby?
Well whose bed have your boots been under?
I heard you've been sneaking
Around with Jill
And what about that weekend
With Beverly Hill
And I've seen you walkin'
With long legs Louise
And you weren't just talkin'
Last night with Denise
(Repeat Chorus)
Come on boots...
So next time you're lonely
Don't call on me
Try the operator
Maybe she'll be free
(Repeat Chorus)
I wanna know whose bed, baby
Whoa baby, tell me
Whose bed, yes I wanna know
You better start talkin'
Or you better start walkin'...

Man! I Feel Like a Woman!
Written by: Shania Twain / R. J. Lange
I'm going out tonight, I'm feelin' alright
Gonna let it all hang out
Wanna make some noise, really raise my voice
Yeah, I wanna scream and shout
No inhibitions, make no conditions
Get a little outta line
I ain't gonna act politically correct
I only wanna have a good time
Pre-Chorus:
The best thing about being a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun and
Chorus:
Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy, forget I'm a lady
Men's shirts, short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild, yeah, doin' it in style Oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction
Color my hair, do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free, yeah, to feel the way I feel
Man! I feel like a woman!
The girls need a break, tonight we're gonna take
The chance to get out on the town
We don't need romance, we only wanna dance
We're gonna let our hair hang down
(Pre-Chorus)

I get totally crazy
Can you feel it
Come, come, come on baby
I feel like a woman

BILLBOARD REVIEW
Since the release of Shania Twain's 12-times-platinum "Come On Over'' in 1997, this track has been among the most obvious single choices among the steady stream of releases to both pop and country radio. Already a hit at her home base (It peaked at No. 4 on Hot Country Singles & Tracks in June), there's no reason that "Man!,'' with its coquettish turn of phrase, shouldn't have the same kind of appeal as her earlier "That Don't Impress Me Much.'' There are plenty of tasty ingredients here - great tempo, attitude, a hook that sells like ice cream in summer (including a guitar riff that conjures the ubiquitous "Spirit In The Sky''), and the instantly recognizable vocals of a woman who is a fond acquaintance of so many millions out there now. This is country crossover at its best. And wait until you catch this videoclip, which features Twain imitating Robert Palmer in his groundbreaking 1986 clip for "Addicted To Love,'' complete with buffed and blank-eyed male models in the background. Hilarious. This is all good.

"Your love keeps me alive...
...You're all I need to survive...

I'm Holdin' On To Love
Written by: Shania Twain / R. J. Lange
I don't need a shrink to tell me what to think
There ain't no missing link in my love life
It's alright, I ain't that uptight
I don't need a psychic 'cause I don't really like it
When someone tries to tell me just what my future holds
I already know
Pre-Chorus:
Your love keeps me alive
You're all I need to survive
I got you by my side
Chorus:
So I'm holdin' on, I'm feelin' strong, baby you're the one
(For all my life)
Yeah I'm holdin' out, there ain't no doubt, I can't live without
(You all my life)
I'm holdin' on to love to save my life
I don't need to get all caught up on the net 'cause I'm already set
Can't you understand, already got my man
No I don't need proof to show me the truth, not even Dr. Ruth
Is gonna tell me how I feel, I know our love is real
(Pre-Chorus)
(Chorus)
(Pre-Chorus)
(Chorus)
Save me, save me, save me

There will be animation -- very futuristic and theres an edge to it. It will keep you a little bit on the edge of your seat. Its more of an action video, so its different for me.

BILLBOARD REVIEW
The feverish anticipation at Country Radio for Shania Twain's new set could be compared to, say, the California Gold Rush of the 1850s. Not two seconds after her new single was digitally zapped to stations, "Getcha" was spinning on nearly 150 reporting outlets, scoring a monumental debut at No. 24 on this week's Hot Country Singles & Tracks. No doubt the format feels a dire need for an almighty presence to lift it from persistent ratings doldrums, and despite a hot set from the Dixie Chicks, Shania is the most likely candidate to lure listeners to Country from Top 40, AC, or wherever else they seem to be hiding. The song itself, frankly, is pretty standard fare for the artist, from its ticklish "woman taunting man" theme, guitar breaks taken right from "That Don't Impress Me Much", and a spoken-word intro, a la "Man! I Feel Like A Woman." Even so, "Getcha" is one catchy little puppy, and Twain sounds as potent and coy at the mike as ever. We're going with the assumption that this first look into her forthcoming "UP!" is more a reminder of where we've been than where she's planning to take us, so we'll take this lightweight song in stride--looking forward to what's *really* new.

Up!
Written by: Shania Twain / R. J. Lange
It's 'bout as bad as it could be
Seems everybody's buggin' me
Like nothing wants to go my way -
yeah, it just ain't my day
Nothin's comin' easily
Even my skin is acting weird
I wish that I could grow a beard
Then I could cover up my spots -
not play connect the dots
I just wanna disappear
Chorus:
Up - up -up-
Can only go up from here
Up - up -up Up
where the clouds gonna clear
Up - up -up -
There's no way but up from here
Even something as simple as
Forgettin' to fill up on gas
There ain't no explanation why -
things like that can make you cry
Just gotta learn to have a laugh
(Chorus)
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah...
When everything is goin' wrong
Don't worry, it won't last for long
Yeah, it's all gonna come around
Don't go let it get you down
You gotta keep on holding on
It's 'bout as bad as it could be
Seems everybody's buggin' me
Like nothing wants to go my way-
yeah, it just ain't been my day
Nothin's comin' easily
(Chorus)
Oh - I'm going up(4x)
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

BILLBOARD REVIEW:
It's UP!, up! and away for Shania Twain's new double-disc, which fulfilled all promises to rule the roost over the all-important holiday season. Second single "UP!" is hardly rewriting the artist's songbook, but it shoots directly at the heart of what has made Twain one of country's most consistent female hitmakers: It's life-loving, instantly singable, uptempo, and wraps things up in a hasty three minutes. The previous "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" peaked at a surprisingly low No.7 on Hot Country Singles and Tracks, perhaps because of its liberal lifting from a couple of her past hits. This one sounds like it's got the goods to go the distance, and with the media machine blazing--Twain has cover stories in the new year in Rolling Stone, In Style, Redbook, Seventeen, and Blender--the Shania galaxy is definitely looking nothing but up.

Forever and For Always
"It's a really romantic song..I write all my songs together with my husband...it's tradition for us to write together..the topic of the songs is love..because that's the topic of the relationship between us two...it's natural for us...it's a song that well explains the relationship between the two ...it's for the entire life...it's now ten years with my husband.... ...Forever and For Always is for everyone who is in love..

Forever and For Always
Written by: Shania Twain / R. J. Lange
In your arms I can still feel the way you
want me when you hold me
I can still hear the words you whispered
when you told me
I can stay right here forever in your arms
And there ain't no way-
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't no how
I'll never see that day....
[Chorus]
'Cause I'm keeping you
forever and for always
We will be together all of our days
Wanna wake up every
morning to your sweet face -always
Mmmm, baby
In your heart- I can still hear
a beat for every time you kiss me
And when we're apart,
I know how much you miss me
I can feel your love for me in your heart
And there ain't no way-
I'm letting you go now
And there ain't no way-
and there ain't no how
I'll never see that day...
(Repeat Chorus)
(I wanna wake up every morning)
In your eyes- (I can still see
the look of the one) I can still see
the look of the one who really loves me
(I can still feel the way that you want)
The one who wouldn't put anything
else in the world above me
(I can still see love for me) I can
still see love in your eyes
(I still see the love)
And there ain't no way-
I'm letting you go now
And there ain't no way-
and there ain't no how
I'll never see that day...
(Repeat Chorus 2x)
I'm keeping you forever and for always
I'm in your arms

BILLBOARD REVIEW
Mercury Records is betting the farm on Shania Twain's midtempo chugger "Forever and for Always" to rejuvenate cross-format interest in Up!, which is steadily edging down The Billboard 200. Two previous releases at country radio have failed to top the singles chart (it's tough going for all country females nowadays), while "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" sparked moderate interest at top 40 and AC. "Forever" thankfully relies less on cutesy gimmicks (and exclamation marks) and focuses thematically on steadfast lovebut this is hardly vintage Shania, à la the lush "From This Moment On" and strikingly simple "You're Still the One." Twain remains an essential artist across the board, but "Forever" is fleeting.

She's Not Just a Pretty Face
"She is your waitress...she is your judge"
~Shania Twain
She's Not Just A Pretty Face
Written by: Shania Twain/ R. J. Lange
(Oh na, na, na)
She hosts a T.V. show -she rides the rodeo
She plays the bass in a band
She's an astronaut -
a valet at the parking lot
A farmer working the land
She is a champion -she gets the gold
She's a ballerina -the star of the show
[Chorus]
She's - not- just a pretty face
She's -got- everything it takes
She has a fashion line-
a journalist for "Time"
Coaches a football team
She's a geologist- a romance novelist
She is a mother of three
She is a soldier -she is a wife
She is a surgeon- she'll save your life
[Second Chorus]
She's- not- just a pretty face
She's- got- everything it takes
She's- mother of the human race
She's- not- just a pretty face
Oh, oh, yeah
Oh na, na, na, na....
She is your waitress- she is your judge-
she is your teacher
She is every woman in the world
Oh, la, la, la
She flies an airplane-
she drives a subway train
At night she pumps gasoline
She's on the council -she's on the board
She's a politician- she praises the lord
[Repeat Second Chorus]
No, she's (she's) not (not)-
just a pretty face
She's (she's) got (got)- everything it takes
She's- not- just a pretty face
She's got everything it takes
She's not just a pretty face

BILLBOARD REVIEW:
We've defininately heard this type of Shania Twain ultra-lightweight country-gril power anthem before. It's all about ear candy here, from the spiritless fiddle licks and steel of the intro to Twain's admittedly well-rendered "Oh, na, na, na" that gets things started. Lyrically, it's so much what you would expect, like Helen Reddy for a new generation: "She is a soldier-she is a wife/she is a surgeon she'll save your life/She's not just a pretty face." Gee, women can do a lot of different things, alert the media. Still, the song is exquisite country pop with an endearing Twain vocal that owns more heart than the song deserves. As always, collaborator/husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange never met a hook he didn't like, with neat sonic tricks and instrumental breaks around every corner. in the past, one might expect a meteoric rise up the charts with fare such as this, but Twain has found the footing tougher this go-round......And besides, exactly which choir is she preaching to?

It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing
"It's the only heartbreak song on the new CD."

Only Hurts When I'm Breathing
Written by: Shania Twain / R. J. Lange
Hope life's been good to you
since you've been gone
I'm doin' fine now - I've finally moved on
It's not so bad- I'm not that sad
I'm not surprised just how well I survived
I'm over the worst, and I feel so alive
I can't complain- I'm free again
(Chorus)
And it only hurts when I'm breathing
My heart only breaks when it's beating
My dreams only die when I'm dreaming
So, I hold my breath- to forget
Don't think I'm lyin' 'round cryin' at night
There's no need to worry, I'm really all right
I've never looked back- as a matter of fact
(Chorus)
It only hurts when I breathe
Mmm, no I've never looked back-
as a matter of fact
(Chorus)
Hurts when I'm breathing
Breaks when it's beating
Die when I'm dreaming
It only hurts when I breathe
"My heart only breaks when it's beating!"

Party For Two
Written by: Shania Twain / R. J. Lange
I'm havin' me a party
I don't think I can come
This ain't just any kind of party
Na, I think I'll stay at home
It's gonna be a really really hot
Startin' to sound good
I'm gonna put you on the spot
Baby, maybe I should
There'll be lotsa one to one
Guess I could be there
Come on and join the fun
What should I wear?
I tell you that it
Bridge:
It doesn't matter what you wear
'Cause there's only gonna be you and me there
Chorus:
I'm havin' a party - a party for two
Invitin' nobody - nobody but you
You be sexy in your socks
We can polish the floors
In case anybody knocks
better lock all the doors
All the things I'm gonna do
I'm gonna do with you
I'll be tryin' something new
I wanna try that too
(Repeat Bridge)
(Repeat Chorus)
I'm here
You're there
that's all we really need
We're gonna party hardy
just-a you and me
Don't think about it now
No, don't you doubt it now
I'm invitin' you to a party for two
All the things I'm gonna do
I'm gonna do with you
I'll be tryin' something new
I wanna try that too

"Don't Fight, Don't Argue....
...Just give me the chance to say that I'm sorry."
Don't!
Written by: Shania Twain / R. J. Lange
Don't don't you wish we tried
Do you feel what I feel inside?
You know our love's stronger than pride
No don't! Don't let your anger grow
Just tell me what you need me to know
Please talk to me - don't close the door
I want to hear you
Want to be near you
Chorus:
Don't fight! Don't argue!
Give me the chance to say that I'm sorry
Just let me love you
Don't turn me away- Don't tell me to go
Don't! Don't give up on trust
Don't give up on me - on us
If we could just hold on long enough
We can do it!
We'll get through it!
(Repeat Chorus)
Don't pretend that it's okay
Things won't get better that way
Don't do something that you might regret one day
Don't!
"People do find me a little reserved and formal," she said. "Canadians are a little more reserved but with people we know we're comfortable. I have never been a huggy feely person. I'm better now than I was. I didn't even want my mother to hug me , I hated it. You are English, you understand what I mean, but in America that is seen as quite odd."

"Well, he's about 6 feet tall, blond, blue eyes, he's a very sweet sweet man" - Shania on Mutt
Name: Robert John "Mutt" Lange
Birthday: 16th November, 1948
Spent his childhood: in Mufilira on the "Copper Belt" region of Zambia. His family moved down south to South Africa when
Mutt was already a teenager.
Siblings: Two brothers, Bill (who is known as "Slug") and Peter.
Early career : Hocus (1971)
The Arthur Brown Band" (1975) Vocals
Random facts : Mutt is a huge soccer fan. He also loves history.
:lDecember 1986: Mutt is hospitalized for 3 weeks with leg injuries after a car crash.
: While working on Bryan Adams' 18 'Til I Die, in a rented Jamaican house/studio, Mutt hung a huge photo
frame containing 42 small pictures of Shania, and one large photo of the two of them together :)
Shania on Mutt: Mutt's a great guy. I refer to him as Mutt, that's the only name he goes by, but he's "Love" to me. He's a very deep person, very gentle. He's a very unusual character. When we met, I didn't think of him romantically at all. But, he was like someone I'd known for many years. He became a good friend, fast.

BMI Names Songwriter Shania the One for Two!
Counts Youre Still The One Song of the Year
Warner-Tamerlane Tallies Publisher Triumph
Nashville, September 21 Performing rights organization BMI unveiled the 47th edition of its Country Awards tonight with Shania Twain, her ballad Youre Still The One and Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp. receiving highest accolades. Hosted by President & CEO Frances W. Preston and Vice President Roger Sovine, this salute to the creators of the past years most performed songs culminated in the announcements of Country Song, Songwriter, and Publisher of the Year. In all, BMI Citations of Achievement were presented to the writers and publishers of 71 songs during the black-tie gala, staged at the companys Music Row offices.
Shania Twain grabbed both of the evenings top songwriter honors: Youre Still The One earned the 31st Robert J. Burton Award as Most Performed Country Song of the Year for Twain and publishers Loon Echo, Inc. and Universal-Songs of PolyGram International, Inc. The Mercury Nashville superstar, whose recording spent 24 weeks on Billboards Hot Country Singles chart and has been certified at more than two million broadcast performances, co-wrote the #1 song with husband/producer Robert John Mutt Lange (share not licensed through BMI).
Her total of four songs on the most performed list also ensured Twain the title of BMI Country Songwriter of the Year. Her additional award-winning compositions, from her 11-times platinum album Come On Over, were Dont Be Stupid (You Know I Love You), From This Moment On and Honey, Im Home. She now has a total of 13 BMI Country and Pop Awards, as well as the Pop Songwriter crown and Pop Song of the Year trophy (for Youre Still The One) she won at this years BMI Pop Awards.
With 12 songs on the most-performed list, Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp. basked in the spotlight as BMI Country Publisher of the Year; Tim Wipperman, Executive Vice President/GM of Warner/Chappell Music, accepted the statue. This distinction is given to the publishing concern with the highest percentage of copyright ownership in award songs.
Of the 89 songwriters recognized, 18 were multiple winners. Following Twain with three awards each were Tom Shapiro and Steve Wariner; double winners included Charlie Black, Clint Black, Steve Bogard, Rory M. Bourke, Shawn Camp, Skip Ewing, Vince Gill, Tommy Lee James, Jim Lauderdale, Robin Lerner, Tony Martin, Sunny Russ, Jeff Stevens, Jon Vezner and Bobby Wood.
Publishers collecting four or more awards were EMI Music Publishing (EMI-Blackwood Music, Inc.; EMI-Longitude Music Co.; Screen Gems-EMI Music, Inc.), Hamstein Cumberland Music, Loon Echo, Inc., Sony/ATV Tree, and Universal Music Publishing Group (Songs of Universal, Inc.; Universal-Millhouse Music; Universal-Songs of PolyGram International, Inc.).
