SHANIA TWAIN IS A COUNTRY MUSIC ARTIST ICON.

Growing up I was into a lot of music mostly Rock-n-Roll. I had heard Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers,Loretta Lynn,Dottie West,Johnny Cash,Willie Nelson plus others that my parents had listened too. I have always liked the afore mentioned Country Artists. I however did not totally get into country music until about three years ago when I had moved too Georgia. The first country artists I had seen in video were Tim McGraw and Faith Hill with there video "Lets Make Love" I watched that video and adored the song and them. The way they looked into each others eyes and the way you could see them connect with a glance at how much they were in love and are still in love with each other today. Well after that I started on a search too listen too some more of these artists and Shania Twain happened too be next along with Alan Jackson and Martina McBride. These artists are the reason I love country music especially Shania because she writes all of her music from experiences that she has had in her lifetime and that is what makes her music so special and so loved by her fans. Shania Twain is a world superstar in country music she is not only loved by many in the United States but she is also loved by many in her home of Timmins,Ontario,Canada and all around Canada and in Europe and other countries. Shania is in the Guiness Book of World Records for her record sales and has won numerous awards in the United States and other countries for her music. Yet as worldwide as she is known Shania is able too still be very down to earth and remembers where she came from and how she got to the level she is today. Shania is not only a superstar in the country music industry but I consider her a superstar in life. She has kept her values and has remained true too family and loved ones as being the most important in her life even before her music and that was so very evident right from the beginning when she lost her parents too a car crash. She came home and took care of her sister and two brothers and set her music career aside too be able too raise them and there are not too many people out there that have done that and this is one of the reasons that I love this country artist.

THIS SITE IS GOING TOO BE DEDICATED TOO EVERYTHING ABOUT SHANIA TWAIN AND HOPEFULLY  I WILL BE ABLE TOO GET LINKS ON HERE THAT WILL TAKE YOU DIRECTLY WHERE YOU NEED TO GO TOO REQUEST HER SINGLES AND VOTE FOR HER WHEN AWARD SHOWS COME UP. MOST OF ALL THOUGH I HOPE YOU JUST ENJOY THE MUSIC THAT I PUT ON HERE OF SHANIA AND THE PICTURES I HAVE ON HERE WITH THE HELP Of A VERY DEAR FRIEND FROM THE SHANIA MESSAGE BOARD ON CMT FRANK. THANK YOU FOR THE PICTURES THAT YOU TOOK FRANK THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL AND YOU WILL SEE THEM ON HERE. SHANIA TWAIN YOU ARE ONE VERY SPECIAL LADY.

May 24, 2006 For a 7-year-old, she does a great job. She's one of the special ones, that's for sure. The crowd is raucous, the sound is iffy and there is no time or place to warm up. For any performer, this assembly attended by more than 900 students at Northwest High School presents less than perfect conditions.

If all of this fazes 7-year-old Skylar Elise Wallum, though, she doesn't show it. Coming on after several a cappella singers, loud rock bands and a belly dancer, she strides out onto the basketball court and belts out the old country standard I Want To Be A Cowboy's Sweetheart, complete with yodels. But she changes 'Cowboy's' to 'Texan's' in honor of the school's mascot.

She follows up with Reba McEntire's sassy Why Haven't I Heard From You like a pro. The students, among them her sister Randi, an 18-year-old senior, go nuts. This is a little girl, after all, and she's personable, poised and confident.

When Skylar Elise is done, she goes back to the stands to sit next to her mom, LaVon Wallum, and immediately critiques her performance. The yodeling, she says, could have been better.

'I love music,' Skylar Elise says, calmly watching the next act. 'I've been listening to it forever. When I sing, I think about my family and what I'm supposed to be doing.'

Singing Christian and country music is what Skylar Elise wants to do. She owns more than 20 CDs, takes weekly voice and piano lessons, and has recently begun plunking away on a guitar.

She sings everywhere. When she's getting ready for bed. While swinging in the back yard of her rural Tarrant County home. At her sister's volleyball tournaments. And at community events, such as Haltom City's Christmas tree lighting.

LaVon Wallum, 1973's Miss Texas USA, says this is no exaggeration. When she was 18 months old, an age when most kids are still working on Mary Had A Little Lamb, Skylar Elise was singing Shania Twain's Man! I Feel Like A Woman! She learned to yodel at age 6 and is constantly asking for musical instruments for birthday and Christmas presents. For the past several months, Skylar Elise has been part of God's Country Kids, a North Richland Hills-based group that sends young people to perform at nursing homes and community events.

'I think she's really good,' said Pamela Elliott, the organization's founder and executive director. 'For a 7-year-old, she does a great job. She's one of the special ones, that's for sure.'

For now, the plan is to for Skylar Elise to perform about once a week, Wallum says, and to see what happens.

'If she likes it the way she says she does, I hope she can be a singer,' she says.

For Skylar Elise, the near future includes turning 8 in July, trying to get better on the guitar and, in August, giving her father Cliff a CD of her singing for his birthday.

'I hope he likes it,' she says. 'He likes to hear me sing . He calls me his little songbird.'

Celebrity stylist returns to her roots

What do Celine Dion, Halina Pawlowská and Henry Kissinger have in common? The stylings of Alena Klenot, a native Czech image consultant with a flair for hair, and more.
Visiting Klenot’s image consulting salon, Studio Klenot, located at Hotel Palais in the posh Prague 2 neighborhood of Vinohrady, is much like strolling down Hollywood’s walk of fame. The wall is smattered with pictures of a smiling Klenot arm-in-arm with bona fide American celebrities, including Cher, Shania Twain, and Janet Jackson, alongside many well-known Czech entertainers.

Klenot, who worked as a make-up artist in California and the United States escaping from communist Czechoslovakia in 1979, opened her studio at the Hotel Palais two years ago. According to Klenot, "anyone who is anyone" in the world of Czech business and politics – including the wives of former prime minister and current EU Commissioner Vladimír Špidla and Otto Jelínek, the country’s first International Economic Coordinator – visit her for advice on their "wardrobe, hair color, diet, and even for rules for business etiquette."

Not surprisingly, the "go-to-girl" in Prague’s small beauty industry has started to outgrow her cramped studio. In addition to adding ambitious new services, Klenot has long-term plans to open two more studio locations in Prague by the end of September. "We’re a hidden treasure in Prague. There are not many other places that offer the services we do, so we’re really in high demand," Klenot said.

Her success, however, was primarily accidental. When she returned to Prague in 1990 with her husband and son, the stylist had no intention of setting up shop back home. But in 2004, Hotel Palais made her an offer she couldn’t refuse: a space to start her own beauty salon and the chance to run the hotel’s health club.

"I used to come [to the Hotel Palais] for a few drinks when I was feeling decadent," recalled Klenot. "The owner knew of my work before, and since the hotel’s spa kept changing hands every two months, he introduced himself and offered me a job."

Luxury appeal

Inadvertently tapping into a market sorely lacking in luxury beauty salons, Klenot runs a profitable business that averages monthly revenues of around Kè 200,000 (€ 7,000). On average, Studio Klenot attracts about eight to ten customers a day, half of whom are guests at the Hotel Palais. What these customers all share is the desire to indulge themselves with pampering services such as enzyme peels (from Kè 1,400), pedicures (Kè 650), permanent makeup (from Kè 2,000), and self-tanning firming treatments (Kè 1,600). According to Klenot, the most popular choice is the rejuvenating chemical peel, "a natural collagen treatment that treats fine wrinkles right away."

Her new undertaking means that Klenot spends half the year in Prague, splitting her time between San Francisco, California and Toronto, Canada (where she owns another salon). Even in Prague, with makeup application starting at Kè 2,000, her two to three daily customers are almost exclusively "VIPs."

"It’s really service that we’re selling here; other places, like the Hilton and the Four Seasons, want you in and out in the shortest amount of time," claims Klenot. "Our clients are professionals who work in embassies, politics, and high-level businesses. They expect the best when they want to relax."

And so far, her service-oriented approach has worked. 70 percent of her clientele is of the ex-pat variety, and about 80 to 90 percent of them are repeat customers. Another, perhaps more "traditional" service Klenot provides is to be on a personal basis with each of her customers. "I hear complaints about their husbands, their sex lives, and their jobs," she admits. "Part of being a good image-consultant is to just listen."

In response to her clients’ comments and complaints, Klenot has extended and diversified her services. She plans on throwing a "networking/singles party" via the salon for her foreign customers. In June, Klenot will host an all-inclusive, American spa weekend in Jachymov for € 300, where a guest can enjoy "yoga, pilates, a great diet, mini-surgical botox, and mini-lipos [liposuctions], as well as the typical spa massages and facials." And although she’s returning to Canada this summer to work with Shania Twain and Canadian "Pop Idol" winners on new music videos, her plans to open two more locations are still underway.

The only snag to her designs so far is staffing. Klenot says that she finds hiring capable employees, "almost impossible," and that providing top-notch service is difficult without them. Currently, Studio Klenot has ten employees, a number that shifts constantly due to the "huge turnover rate."

"It’s every three months that I’ll have to hire a new person. I run my shop with commission-based salaries, hoping that it would offer more of an incentive to work harder. But commission very seldom works here," lamented Klenot.

Although Klenot does face problems with her employees and a busy bi-continental schedule, her rise from a Czech refuge/émigré to a celebrity stylist seems almost like a fairytale. Albeit a fairy tale with a large dose of elbow grease: "It just shows that hard work pays off. A lot of people here don’t want to put in the effort; they don’t have the drive. I realized that to make it, you have to swim or drown."

Shania Inks Zomba Publishing Admin Deal

By Susan Butler, N.Y.

SHANIA TWAIN

Zomba Music Publishing has landed an exclusive worldwide administration agreement with Shania Twain through her company Loon Echo.

The deal covers Shania's future compositions as well as her complete catalog, with such hits as "You're Still the One," "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!," "From This Moment On," "That Don't Impress Me Much," and "(If You're Not In It For Love) I'm Outta Here."

"Shania Twain is one of those few artists who have achieved massive worldwide success in both country and pop music, all the while maintaining her credibility, artistry and fan base in both genres," says Zomba president David Mantel. He adds that the publishing firm is looking forward "to many years of great music with Shania."

The catalog was previously with Universal Music Publishing.

According to Billboard Monitor, UMG country artists will debut on the new Motorola iRadio cell phones. The phone will have a channel designed around UMG country artists. The new iRadio is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2006. Shania Twain, along with George Strait, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, and Lee Ann Womack will be featured.

These channels might include features such as tour dates, album release dates, new singles and back catalog. Dave Ulmer, director of product marketing for Motorola said, “We can now create specific radio channels that are dedicated to their artists and include much, much more than simply music.” He also told Billboard Radio Monitor that the channels give “a whole selection of stuff that’s very focused to their specific fan and gives [artists] a direct connection to that fan.”

The cost of the service plans to be between $7 and $10 a month. Users simply choose their channel selections through a PC and then use a USB connection to download them onto their cell phone. The only catch is that once it is listened to, it is gone.

Housewives' new triumph
September 28, 2005 - 1:52PM

Desperate Housewives . . . back for another season.

Desperate Housewives . . . back for another season.

The women from Wisteria Lane are back for a second airing of dirty laundry, and this time they've captivated nearly 30 million television viewers.

The much-anticipated second season of the blockbuster show Desperate Housewives has premiered in America, drawing an average audience of 28.2 million people.

The first series of the program, which is screened on the US network ABC, was shown in Australia on the Seven Network and was also a hit.

It picked up an average of about two million viewers per week for Seven, making it the number one regularly scheduled program on Australian television this year.

Seven says Housewives and its other big hit show, Lost, will return to the broadcaster next year.

Last week the second series of Lost debuted on American screens to an audience of more than 23 million American viewers.

These figures were up by 4.4 million on the American debut episode of the first series.

After the success of Lost and Housewives, Seven has snapped up more new shows for 2006.

I STILL CAN'T GET OVER THIS VAN. WONDER IF THEY WOULD SELL IT TO ME.

While the CD "Music From and Inspired By Desperate Housewives" is at times gratifying (LeAnn Rimes' "We're Running Out of Time") and amusing (Martina McBride's "Harper Valley PTA"), more often it sounds like reheated rejects from the contributors' albums. Nowhere is this more apparent than on Shania Twain's "Shoes," over which one could lay most any of her clever-word-play hits from earlier in the decade. The song is so generic, in fact, that it is tough to decide which track it most mimics. Even so, country radio is indulging the release, which is somewhat of a mystery given the new generation of female artists reinvigorating the scene. Twain certainly remains a major talent with plenty left to say, but these "Shoes" have no soul. —Chuck Taylor

These are truly perfect for the home page of Shania as it shows her love for both her fans and music.

I found this picture of Shania on a snowmobile relaxing with her feet up. I think this picture is a wonderful pic of her.

Now don't she just look adorable there relaxing.

Well here is a wonderful picture of Shania with I would make a bet one of her horses. We all know how much Shania loves horses and loves horseback riding.

I believe Shania was performing her concert in the audience right where she is most comfortable around her fans.

Give me a picture of this lovely down to earth lady in the audience and I will most certainly put it up here to show the world what a truly beautiful and wonderful person this lady is and to just be able to point out how she cares about her fans.

Look at how much fun Shania is having sharing the spotlight with her fans.

I love the pants and boots she has on here. She is such a sweet and very real performer. Like she states in so many of her interviews what you see is what you get.

Look at that gorgeous smile from her. She almost looks like she is going to be shy and try to duck out of the spotlight and give it all to her fans.

GOD BLESS THE CHILDREN
