          Aunty Doris's Cats in Clover

          Aunty Doris's Cats in Clover

This is a side to the sanctuary purely for the cats it was named after Tootsie’s owner, Doris Phipps who dedicated 96 years of her life to caring for cats, unfortunately she passed away, so in her memory we founded Aunty Doris's Cats in Clover.

Tootsie her remaining cat came to live with us after her niece tried to home Tootsie with the rest of her seven cats and Tootsie would not settle in at all, she became aggressive with the other cats and was causing numerous problems although they loved her dearly, so Tootsie came to live at Park Farm.

Tootsie is a tortoiseshell cat who is around 12-13 years old, she likes the quiet life and is more happy laying on the bed watching the television that is on for her, she is interested in what is going on around her and is a very loving and affectionate cat, she has settled in well and tolerates the other cats.

We currently have many cats at the sanctuary and they live in the house together, eat together and some even sleep together, they are from many different backgrounds and all are very happy at Park Farm. In order to take more cats we need to build the cat shelters which are heated and luxurious for cats, the house has enough felines in it and I wouldn't want to upset the balance, but if the situation is desperate then I would have no problem in homing another in the house.

A little about the cats that reside with us, some of these are up for sponsorship if you are interested.

Arabella - She is a felix type cat, extremely friendly and loves attention, she sleeps under the covers and is very settled at Park, she has been with us since she was two weeks old, she was actually the runt of the litter and we didn't think she would survive, however with a two hour feeding pattern and lots of tlc she is now one of the heaviest cats at the sanctuary, she is now five years old.

Ascot - Ascot came to us heavily pregnant and in a terrible state, she was very thin even though she was pregnant and her skin was in a bad state, she was also very wild which caused a few problems. She had the kittens the day after arriving, one which was breach and she couldnt deliver the kitten, we had to help her deliver and unfortunately the kitten died, she had one other that survived a day. Although heartbreaking it was a relief as she would not have been able to feed them and look after them as she was in such a state her self, we concentrated on getting her well and ensuring she was well fed and treating her skin. Ascot is available for sponsorship.

Tallulah - Lu Lu came to us as a five week kitten after having being savaged by a dog, she needed emergency veterinary treatment and it was touch and go whether she would lose her leg, she has recovered and we have introduced her to the dogs and she seems to have recovered very well. Lu Lu is available for sponsorship.

Jennie - Jennie is a pure black cat with green eyes, she is only four and had been beaten and abused, she could not be rehomed through a large cat charity and she came to me to see if she would settle, she was petrified of men and didn't like noise and was extremely afraid of most things, we have worked with her and now she is the one at the forefront when people come to visit, she is no longer timid and loves life at the santuary - Jennie is available for sponsorship.

Breezer - Breezer is a stunning tabby boy with huge green eyes, his owner absolutely adored him and had him since he was a kitten, due to changes in the owners circumstances then Breezer started spraying everywhere making it impossible for the lovely lady to cope, she had tried everything we suggested and to no avail, so Breezer came to live with us, he has had no problems with spraying and has settled well, he goes out and loves life here.

More to come........
