We are a military family who have been located just outside of Ft. Benning, Georgia for the past 10 years. Our family has been involved with American Bulldogs since 1999. Addicted to them, actually. We are not a "kennel." We are just a regular family with a passion for our dogs. Our dogs are a significant part of our everyday lives and we share our home with them, just as we would a family member or guest.
The goal of our breeding program is to produce healthy, large, athletic, family dogs with strong drive and solid temperament. We believe in only breeding quality dogs that are both physically and mentally sound and have passed our "kid-spection."
Our American Bulldogs are a mixture of the Scott and Johnson types. We feel that this "hybrid" gives you the best of both worlds. We were introduced to the Catahoula Leopard a few years ago. We immediately knew that we wanted to incoprorate the leopard (or merle) coat into our program. We had our first litter of Catahoula Bulldogs in 2007, and these half AB / half Catahoula pups will be the foundation for our line of Catahoula Bulldogges. Our future generations will be bigger, bullier, and more massive as we work to minimize the Catahoula look while retaining the beautiful coat colors and patterns.
Bulldogs are a very loyal, loving and intelligent breed, but they are not for everyone, so please research the breed before bringing one to your home. They require a responsible owner who can handle their size and strength. Their intelligence, curiosity, and desire for human interaction require a fair amount of stimulation and playtime.
Puppies are raised in our house and handled by me daily beginning from birth, and will be socialized with our 6 and 9 year old children and other animals as they grow. We also used the military Biosensor method of early neurological stimulation to obtain the best quality temperament possible, and as an added bonus, it boosts the puppy's health and immune system. These exercises can only be done the first couple weeks of life and have a huge impact on the pup. I will never have another litter without the early neurological stimulation. I believe in it that strongly.
We use the following registries... WBA (World Bulldogge Alliance), ARF (Animal Research Foundation), and/or CKC (Continental Kennel Club). Pups will have been de-wormed every 2 weeks beginning when they are 2 weeks old, and we follow the 6, 9, 12, and 16 week vaccination schedule. We usually have dewclaws removed and although I prefer the natural tail on the AB, I am leaning toward a docked tail for the Catahoula Bulldogges.
We spend a lot of time with and put a lot of love into our pups while they are with us, therefore we are extremely picky when it comes to choosing a home for them. We prefer to match them up with families so that everyone involved wins. So a higher energy pup would be best suited for an active family whereas a laid back pup might be better suited to a family with young children than the aforementioned high energy pup. We want you to love your pup in 10 years just as much as you do right now.
These dogs have added so much to our lives. If you think that the American Bulldog or the Catahoula Bulldog could also bring you joy, please feel free to contact us at the email address or phone number at the bottom of each page. We'd love to talk to you about our bulldogs and answer any questions you may have.
