A glimpse into one of our training sessions :)

We are so proud of Mr. P lately. We're still taking classes every week, learning more and more about agility. This is something we've never done with any of our dogs before so it's a whole new experience! We are definitely learning that it is like a dance -- so much easier to watch than actually do. It's a movement, a language, that you learn and, with practice, you develop a feel for. It's SO much fun!

With that being said, Parker is absolutely amazing. He is such an awesome little learner. We, on the other hand, are learning the walk, so to speak. And we're having a blast doing so!!

Here's Parker during one of our recent training sessions. We're not super fast at this point in time -- and there's no reason to be -- YET!!

Enjoy!

Excellent job Park! I love the last part the best where you weave around the polls. How did you learn to do that?! You're such a smart guy. Much love to you!

Thank you, Emily! The weaves are fun to learn -- we started him out by just rewarding him when he showed any interest in one set of weaves (two poles - our weaves can be broken down). Then whenever he walked through the two poles we'd reward him. When he got that down, we rewarded him along the horizontal line in the direction in which he would eventually run. Finally we'd start pairing two sets (4 poles) and then three sets (6 poles). :) It is so much fun to see the little lightbulb go off in their heads!
