Top Ten Things To Do When You're Bored
Make a list of 101 things that people can do to make you smile
Write a book for children that explains a controversial subject. For example, “Heather has two Mommies” or “The Stork Didn’t Bring Me.”
Add thought bubbles (or other enhancements) to objects around your campus & take digital pictures of your friends, and then get them printed like you would regular pictures so you have a hard copy. The results are very cool.
Follow Mrs. Quinn's poetry for dummies theory: Write a paragraph about a particularly vivid moment using a lot of descriptive words. Put a slash at the end of each sentence and everywhere you would naturally pause when you read it out loud. Then remove everything but the descriptors and what they describe. Each slash denotes a new line. Example: "My pulsating purple heart quivers in my chest. Hot tears drip down my flushed red cheeks." becomes "Pulsating purple heart quivers/ Hot tears drip/ flushed red cheeks" Write a poem about someone you know and then give it to them.
Write your own travel guide for turner. Be sure to include all the places that most people visit, and then all of the places you recommend that no one ever visits - like the diner you and your friends frequent late at night.
Scavenger hunt!
Look up inspirational quotes, then pick your favorites and write them on construction paper. Decorate them and hang them up somewhere you'll look at them everyday
Make an "I just got dumped kit" for a friend. No one breaking up? Keep it on standby. Things you MUST include: tissues, peanut butter cups, a killer mix cd with no sad songs or love songs on it - the last track must be I Will Survive, pink nail polish, and a funny movie that is guaranteed to make anyone laugh.
Make a diagram of connections between your friends. Start with yourself, connect yourself to all the people you've kissed (or gone farther with), and then add all the people they've kissed, etc. You'll be amazed and slightly disgusted.
