Mission Statement of the Paranormal Society of Indiana

  1. To Remain Primarily a Discreet Faction.  The Press or general Public need not know of our investigations or results, unless it is expressly desired by the Client.  Seekers of amusement and curiosity need not solicit our group.  For those who need us, we can be found.

  1. To Investigate All Areas of the Supernatural.  Hauntings, obviously, are the main focus of our expertise, but we will not shy from reports from credible witnesses concerning such matters as telekinesis, telepathy, poltergeist phenomenon, or other strange possible occurrences...

  1. To Maintain Good Rapport with Each Contact.  Respect and the proper discretion at all times will be given the Contact and the Property Owner.  The code of conduct followed in this group will be supplemented by any additional conditions expressed by the Property Owner and agreed upon previous to the investigation.

  1. To Comprise a Network Society of Independent Investigators.  Each Investigator brings something unique to the case.  As a group, we are free to allow any serious-minded researcher to assist us as we see fit.  Also, inclusion in this casual, yet tightly knit society does not preclude any one member from working with or joining another unit, group, or organization.  Nor does it prevent any one participant from taking separate cases on their own time and merit.

  1. To Examine Evidence with a Skeptical, yet Open-Minded Eye.  We will treat evidence and claims with scrutiny while refusing to cater to the whims of categorical skepticism.  We neither solely embrace nor reject Science, nor do we completely advocate or deny every claim of the Supernatural.  We realize that the Truth is often made up of more than one factor.  This can extend between the use of solid, methodical, technological means and assistance from less empirical, more esoteric methods.

  1. To Preserve Respect for all Approaches and Creeds.  We will hold a tolerance for the variety of beliefs likely to be held by our own Investigators as well as our Clients, as long as all involved have respect for the serious, impartial investigation.
