Are you interested in getting your story or art published in one of our zines? Dying to be able to boast about being part of the paranormal? Doing what the EVPs tell you to? Then this is definitely the place to be!
Those interested, please look below for the submission guidelines.
Otherwise, please look at the UPCOMING ZINES for zines looking for submissions.
Please be sure to read over the guidelines very carefully before contacting us...
GUIDELINES: Writers
1. Story Length: Any length of story is welcome, however, if your story is shorter than two pages in length (Times New Roman; 12pt Font), you must submit, at very least, TWO complete stories.
2. Most any genre and rating is allowed, but please be aware that stories containing rape/non-con/torture will be carefully scrutinized; if the submissions staff believes that your story uses them in excess and not for a plot device, your story will immediately be rejected.
3a. Stories must be NEW; not published anywhere before (website, other zine, mailing list, school newsletter, etc.) and they must have a completed header at the beginning of the file. If you are not used to using headers, this is what I'm looking for:
Title:
Author(s):
Email:
Rating:
Pairing:
Summary:
Genre: (Angst, Drama, Humor, Romance, etc.) [optional]
Warnings: [If any]
Author's Notes:
When submitting, any additional information you can give (i.e. word count) would be very much appreciated by the staff.
3b. When submitting your work, the acceptable format is as follows:
4. Every story submitted MUST be edited before submitting. That means, get yourself a beta or alpha reader, run a spell check, and read over your work. If we get a story that is completely riddled with mistakes, we're not going to bother to read it, we'll just reject it.
5. Accepted stories are exclusive to the zine for the entire year following publication; authors/artists may not publish those items anywhere during that time, not even if it's "just on my personal webpage."
6. Please contact us before you send your story along. Not only would we like to know who it is interested in contributing but we would also appreciate receiving the header (see section 3 above) before you send the entire story along. If the story meets our guidelines, we will e-mail you back asking for the rest of the story.
7. All contributors will receive a free copy of the zine for their efforts but please do not try to ask for multiple copies. We are a small publisher and while we're happy to send you one, we cannot afford to send multiple copies. This is all non-profit (money received is reinvested into the zines) and completely out of pocket for us, we're sure you all understand.
Guidelines: Artists
1. Any art/graphic you choose to submit must be in either .jpeg or .bmp format. Right not, we're not accepting any other version.
2. We are looking for fanart; not pictures of actors/actresses that you've run through a graphics program and blurred the image a bit. We want something actual effort put into it.
3. We're not going to set specifics for size but please use your common sense. We're not looking for huge wallpaper sized graphics.
4. Sexually graphic images are allowed, however, please be aware which zine you're submitting to. General zines do NOT allow graphics with a rating higher than PG-13.
5. Are comic book-esque renderings allowed? Very much so but please contact us for further information before sending them along.
