Paranormal Companies allow people to come along as customers and take part in a paranormal investigation. Some of these Companies offer the use of their scientific equipment, engage in spiritual development and conduct both Scientific and Spiritualistic based experiments at some of the countries most haunted locations. Most have mediums who are part of the team, whilst some rely on good old gadgetry to try and find the same thing... evidence of something paranormal. They are ideal if you are starting out and not sure if sitting in the dark and asking daft questions is your cup of tea, there are some bad ones out there but not on my website!

Groups differ from Companies in that by and large they do not allow people to come along as customers. A lot of groups have seen the antics of certain TV Shows and follow suite, this would be like watching Deadliest Catch then going into the Bering Sea in nothing but a blow-up dinghy you bought at Morecambe. GOOD Paranormal Groups have a sensible mentality, usually with the ability to research the locations they are visiting which is a must in my opinion. Bad groups often give everyone else a bad name, which although isn't nice it is sadly the truth. Hopefully by creating a good group only list it will at least give the bad guys something to aim for.

The Otherworld North East Research Group (OWNE) is a non-profit anomalous phenomena investigation and research association specialising in recording the physical phenomena often associated with alleged ghosts and hauntings. Our aim is to help promote the heritage of the North East of England's historical sites, blending local history research with field and documentary research into ghostly sightings and experiences. We are a data collection group and do not use mediums, seances, talking boards or dowsing as standard practice during our venue-based investigations. We do not charge for field investigations into alleged paranormal activity.
