Hi Ardent, I have two posts on this site all about the horrors of the Western Front... one is a magazine article I wrote a few years ago entitled "Ghosts of the Western front" its an amalgamation of several well know ghost stories from this conflict, the second is entitled "Bienvenue L'Enfer" (Welcome to Hell) and is all about the Battle of Verdun (the most costly battle ever fought) and its ghost stories.

Hope they help :)

CJ :)

I wonder about the battlefields of the Western Front from World War One. Surely this must be some of the most haunted places on earth. So many men dying in a relativity small area over years. The Americans say there Civil War battlefield are haunted... But really... The western front makes Gettysburg look like a church picnic. Are there any ghost stories from France and this war?

Hi Elphinstone, thanks for the comments.

Couldn't agree more with your comments on the Reformation and Civil Wars, as with all history we can only look back on it with hindsight and our views and actions cannot change the past.

Thanks again.

CJ :)

PS. Not many people believed the world was flat actually, the ancient Greeks knew it was round and they passed that infor onto everyone who conquered them or came into contact with their conquerors. The world being flat is one of those historical myths that seem so abundant, like Norsemen having horns in their helmets and being called "Vikings"... complete myth.

Dear CJ. I find your site is really interesting and a refreshing change. Firstly, I'm passionately into History (as an ex-History student!) I am particularly interested in the Feudal System and the effects of the Reformation on the "Three Kingdoms" of which we all still feel the knock-on effect. Still trying to figure out whether the Civil Wars were a good thing or a bad thing!

Everything happens for a significant reason in the paranormal. I think there is a lot to life that we don't understand but we "brush up against" from time to time. Afterall, everyone believed the World was flat once didn't they?
