SLIME 1
How to make Metamucil Flubber
1) Combine 1 teaspoon of Metamucil and 8 to 10 ounces of water in a micro-wave safe bowl and mix very well.
2) Put the bowl in the micro-wave
and nuke it for about 4 or 5 minutes or until the goo is about to
bubble out of the bowl. (times vary per oven)
3) Let the goo cool slightly, then
repeat step 2 (nuke till about to overflow). The more times this step
is repeated the more rubbery the stuff will be.
Keep in mind the level of slimyness you want and you can stop at any time.
This does not reproduce the consistency and tenacity of say, Ultra-slime but does make a very convincing snot.
I'll actually be using it in place
of Ultra-slime, I need some to go in an actors mouth, but I wont be
using it in a way that shows the differance.
Now here's the DISCLAIMER:
This stuff get HOT HOT HOT so
please use caution and gloves when making the goo. The Monster Lab,
it's members and I are not responsible for injuries related to this
information nor are we responsible for the cost of adult diapers for
those who choose to eat alot of the Metamucil Flubber.
SLIME 2
Prepare the required solutions and allow for cooling.
polyvinyl alcohol solution
Mix 3 parts of warm (but not boiling) water and 1 part of craft glue*
(Example: 675mL of water and 225mL of craft glue*)
sodium borate (Borax) solution
Mix: 16 parts of warm (but not boiling) water and 1 part of Borax
(Example: 160mL of water and 150 grams of Borax)
Pour out a portion of the polyvinyl alcohol solution and mix in food colouring if desired.
Gradually (A COUPLE OF DROPS AT A TIME) add of the sodium borate (Borax) solution while mixing rapidly with a stirring rod.
The slime is complete when it appears to be uniformly mixed and does not adhere to the container.
*An example of a craft glue that
may be used is Elmer's Blue Gel Glue. While other craft glues will work
as well, this glue yields a clear slime.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT SLIME:
The slime is not edible.
The slime can be dissolved by water (it is water soluble).
The slime should not be permitted to dry on surfaces (it will bond to it).
The slime will last longest when it is kept in the refrigerator in a sealed container (or plastic bag)
SLIME 3
Ingredients/Preparation
Water
Cornflour (or other food thickener ie cornstarch)
salt
shaving cream
food colouring/poster paints
Get a bowl of hot water and gently
stir in the cornflour until the water turns milky white ass salt as
this helps with the reaction process. Take the bowl of water and place
in microwave for around 1 min. The mixture should then go thick, put in
the microwave for longer if you want a thicker mixture. BUT LET IT
COOL!
Add in the food colouring or poster
powder paints to act as colouring (poster powder paints are easier to
remove from clothes than normal food colouring) and there you go, a
lovely thick mixture made of natural products.
The shaving foam is optional as we
use it to make the slime less transparent as it turns it more whiter
when it comes straight out of the microwave and therefore looks better
on TV. Add the shaving foam before the colouring and after it comes out
of the microwave.
Repeat the above steps for as long needed.
SLIME 4
Do-It-Yourself "SLIME" (ALSO CLEAR) I think.......
2 ts Guar Gum
1 tb Borax
Water
Mixing bowl
Food colouring
2 Empty plastic soda bottles to store the liquids
Zipper lock bag
Making The Borax Water: Borax is a
type of powder soap that is available in most grocery stores. Add 1
tablespoon Borax powder to 1 cup of water. Stir until most of the
powder dissolves. Store the Borax Water in a jar or bottle, and label
the container "BORAX & WATER MIXTURE". Remember that one cup of
Borax Water will make many batches of "SLIME".
Preparing The Guar Gum (available
at health food stores): Measure 4 cups (approximately 1 litre) of warm
water into a large mixing bowl. Add 10 drops of food colouring -
possibly green! SLOWLY (very slowly) stir in 2 teaspoons of guar gum.
This fine powder has a tendency to clump up if it is not stirred into
the water slowly. After thoroughly mixing, pour the guar gum mixture
into a soda bottle and label it appropriately.
Making Slime: Pour 1/2 cup of the
guar gum mixture into a clean zipper-lock bag. Add 1 teaspoon of the
Borax Water mixture that you made previously. Seal the bag and shake.
Within seconds you'll have prepared your very own batch of SLIME! This
gooey mixture will retain its slimy properties for 1-2 days before
finally turning into a watery mess. When the SLIME is no longer good,
seal it in the zipper-lock bag and throw it away. Do not pour it down
the drain.

Tapioca starch (readily available at asian markets)
water.
mix about a half cup of tapioca starch to a pint of water.. mix thoroughly.
Microwave until the liquid is hot
but not boiling. Let cool.. if you need it to be even stringier.. you
can add more starch, but you have to add it as a liquid... add fresh
starch to fresh water and then mix that into the existing thick stuff..
Strangley enough,..and not to be
gross. .but this stuff looks strangly like sperm when it's done... and
you can get it quite thick! Almost SOLID!
SLIME 21
Use
"Quik-Cure" Epoxy #5 and "Quik-Cure" Expoxy #5 Hardner. You just
combine the two together, stir it and apply. Dries into a fantastic
drool. Easy method here. Hobby stores usually carry it. I buy mine from
"Hobby-Town...
SLIME 22
Methylcellulose
slime. You can sometimes get it from art supply stores, any chemical
supply house, and I'm sure FX supply places. Just methocel and water,
and you have a nice water-clear, nasty drippy slime. I pretty sure
thats what the used in Alien, I know it's what the used in
Ghostbusters, and I've used many, many gallons myself. I believe its
also what they used inside the fabric constuctions for the 1988 "The
Blob". It's inexspensive, and a little methocel goes a long way. It's
been a while since I made it and I'd always eyeballed the amounts, but
I'd say about 50 grams per gallon would work as a starting point,
varying the amount to how gooey you want it. One fun thing to do with
it is to whip a small amount up in a blender, and fold it into some
clear slime. The air in the whipped version gives you a different sort
of translucency than you would get from adding something else to it,
and gives it a nice "snotty" look. Add a few subtle tints to different
batches mixed together and you can get pretty disgusting.
