My Elusive, Lucid
Dream
By Gale A. Sparks
The early morning light casts a soft orange hue
It glows off the blinds of my southeast window
I foggily remember that I had again witnesse
My wonderful and wild elusive, lucid dream
I lay my head back and slowly close my eyes,
Hoping that its beauty may linger there still
I longed for my dream at least one more time.
Minutes, passed by when the Dreamsicle fog
Appeared and floated gently through my mind
I lie patiently still as the scene again begins
With its Dreamsicle clouds, and purple outlines
A fog covers the blank canvas of
my
It slowly rises and slightly opens
Off to the middle of the scene
The clouds slightly part the sky a dark violet
The stars are shining brightly from a velvet background
Then moving graceful and fluid as it comes into sight
A brilliant orange orb glides in from one side,
Its surface now glowing with neon highlights
And again it is on sea that I calmly float
And I remembered from so many times before
A warm tranquil feeling washes over
As I drift easily in a vast ocean
Each white cap with
colors that sparkle
As they drift by like soldiers in line
One side of each, is the Dreamsicle orange
The other a compliment of purples, and blue
Then as in slow motion a huge wave arises
Standing proudly as it reaches for the sky
Standing frozen upward for only a second
It finally breaks over with a downward curve
Showering a rainbow of colors across the calm water
As I watch the awesome light show of color
A large bubble rose up with an iridescent sheen
The top half a hot pink
and the bottom a pearl blue
Something in the bubble that looks like me
Curled fetally inside of the bubble?
As I struggle trying to get the bubble to the surface,
Is it up to me if my bubble floats or sinks to the bottom?
