A mysterious little boy named Harry moves in next door to Draco Malfoy, and he's determined to make him his friend and learn all of his secrets. Years later, he's determined to make Harry more than a friend. Why Suggested: This is another one of those 'I want to cry a lot' fics. I can definitely say that this fic has a lot of substance in it. Still fluffy but without seeming like it was written by a student in middle school. Though it doesn't have anything to do with magic you will find several references to the books. It's quite amusing. Beware though, it gets a bit angsty for a few chapters. Also a very sweet romantic tale (though the author would never admit it). The House of Potters (Where All of Your Dreams Come True) - faithwood Livejournal.com Status: Complete Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: Obsession with Harry Potter draws out the worst in some people, but it makes Draco Malfoy reveal his hidden qualities. Why Suggested: It's a major angst fic with a happy ending. I throughly enjoyed reading this. I'm such a happy ending person this fic made me VERY happy. I'm most satisfied with Harry's characterization and the timeline of this frame. The author has a great knack for making a great plot too. ♥ Negotiations - mirabellafic Livejournal.com Status: Complete Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: Harry's never letting Hermione dress him again. Well, unless it results in him being paid to have sex with Draco Malfoy. Then it will probably be okay. Why Suggested: Another new fic baby of mine. It features a rentboy!Harry which is actually rare in the HP fandom (weird). It's very cute and it makes me heart warm and fuzzy. The fic is journal locked, sorry, you'll have to have an LJ account and join the community before you can read the firc. No worries, just a few clicks! It's worth it. The World of the Living - fourth_rose LiveJournal.com Status: Complete Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: A traumatised war hero and a convicted criminal under the roof of an eccentric journalist make for a rather odd ensemble, but Luna has never had a problem with oddities as long as they make sense. Why Suggested: It's a one-shot that is pretty long. It left me feeling very warm inside and happy. What I like most about it is that it's told completely from Luna's point of view. It's very interesting and the characterization, just perfect. Read it in one go or split it up, 17K words should leave you satisfied, yeah? Friend Like Me - Artuntaure Livejournal.com Status: Complete Rate: NC-17/R/M Author's Summary: Draco's rendition of the Love story that never was. Why Suggested: This story is beautiful. Goes perfectly with a cup of red wine. -grins- Well... I'll just say something short since I think a long explanation will ruin the whole thing. This story makes me cry. The end. Angst lovers will love this. Non-angst lovers WILL love it. Merlin's Legacy - kungzoune FanFiction.net Status: Complete Rate: M/R/NC-17 Author's Summary: Harry Potter was destined to be a great leader of the light. Too bad that Dumbledore made the wrong decision and proclaimed Harry's twin sister as the chosen one. Will Harry grow up to become the wizard that he should be? Why Suggested: Dumbledore bashing on the most part. Lilly/James bashing too since they start neglecting Harry. It may sound kind of yucky too you but try it. It's highly recommended. Checkmate - Naadi FanFiction.net Status: Complete Rate: M/R/NC-17 Author's Summary: Draco has a plan to get Harry Potter, and challenges him to a game of Dare Chess. But is it love, or betrayal, he has in mind? A real game of chess is played throughout the story. A seventh year story based on canon through Goblet of Fire. Why Suggested: This also seems to be a very popular fic among fanfiction.net readers. Draco is a little out of character in this fic but it is all justified and it's not that bad. The plot and the development of the characters is what really pulls you in and makes you continue. Great read if you want some instant Draco/Harry contact without 20 chapters of hate blocking the way. A Panther's Heart - Copper Vixen FanFiction.net Status: Complete Rate: K+/PG Author's Summary: Harry gets caught while in his animagus form and is purchased to be a familiar to his worst enemy. Why Suggested: Isn't the summary tantalizing enough for you? Yes? No? I find it a very interesting story. Especially since the author puts a whole other meaning on 'familiar'. If you're thinking Harry's animagus form is cat, toad, owl, or even dog, guess again. You're wrong. Bump - Original Lie LiveJournal.com Status: Complete Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: Draco can feel his desperation and fear bubbling to the surface and it’s out before he can stop it. Why Suggested: This is a very depressing tale. Not suggested for those who wanted to find a comfort ficlet. It is a one-shot but it's not short so don't go thinking it's a drabble! The author does a great job at characterizing Draco. If Wishes Were Children... - oldenuf2nobetter TheHexFiles.net Status: Complete Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: Harry Potter has tried to move on with his life after Draco Malfoy walked away from him months before with little or no explanation, but it's been hard. Then, on a joyous day at the Burrow, Narcissa Malfoy makes an unexpected appearance... Why Suggested: Another depressing one. Sorry! I've been into angsty things lately since it seems to fit the Harry and Draco pairing so much. Not to mention that more and more authors are starting to write angst for them. It's great though, try it. I can't say that it's totally 100% depressing angst. It's more like drama. Think A Walk to Remember. Still sad but happy. It has a happen ending, don't worry. Without Rhyme or Reason - Kindli The Bottom!Draco Emporium Status: Complete Rate: M/R/NC-17 Author's Summary: Draco blackmails Harry into dominating him. Can it become more? Why Suggested: This fic does great characterization. Even though this is a one-shot it's a long one so the story line gets developed quite well. This is a 15k+ story that will warm you heart and at the same time won't suffocate you because of too much fluff. There is BDSM in this tale so people who get squicky about that kind of stuff, don't read. Leave Your Field To Flower - Emma Grant Skyehawke Status: Complete Rate: M/R/NC-17 Author's Summary: Draco Malfoy is like all the other Survivors of the disaster -- except for one called Harry Potter. (Harry/Draco, post-war) Why Suggested: I love post-war fics. In this fic Draco and other survivors of the war against Voldy-shorts forget everything about the wizarding world. The only one who remembers is Harry and the muggles think he's insane. Uh oh... Growing Pains - SensiblyTainted FanFiction.net Status: Complete Rate: M/R/NC-17 Author's Summary: The summer after Sirius' death, the abuse at the Dursley's leaves him broken. Marry Ginny. Have a family. But then he sees an advertisement in the paper that no one else can see, and his life is turned upside-down. The Broom Closet: you can be anyone you want while you're there, but you won't remember it in the morning. Why Suggested: A new favorite of mine. This story isn't all about the smut, it has an actual plot that pulls you in and makes to want to cling to it. Hold on for your life if you decide to read this. Also, make sure you have enough time to read it in one go. It's THAT good. Harry finds he needs that and more. Why Suggested: I hyperventilated throughout this whole thing. Need I say anything else? Practicing the Same Religion - Duinn Fionn Skyehawke Status: Complete Rate: M/R/NC-17 Author's Summary: Harry thought he knew how far Draco Malfoy would go to save his family, but nothing could have prepared him for what he would witness this time. Why Suggested: Very touching and surprising. It does feature mPREG and the starting is a bit depressing but overall a wonderful fic. It was written during Christmas time and Christmas time is fluff time. Don't worry, its not a total fluff ball. The Veela Enigma - jennavere Skyehawke Status: Complete Rate: M/R/NC-17 Author's Summary: What if some of Draco's ancestors, pretending to be purebloods, concealed the truth about their veela heritage? You'd end up with one very confused Draco Malfoy, who's fallen head over heels in love with Harry Potter and has no idea why. Why Suggested: It's been dubbed a classic and I can't really refute that. This is on MANY fic rec lists and if that doesn't convince you to read it I don't know what will. Harry/Severus The Changer - Vingilot FanFiction.net Status: Work In Progress Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: Harry Potter has been missing since he was eight. Now, seven years later, Severus Snape has a one night stand that just doesn’t seem to end. How long will they be able to keep their secrets? Why Suggested: This fic has been suggest by a lot of people and I've finally added it to this list. I've tried it and I find it very sweet. Romance to the core. It's a little sad near a few parts but it tells a really good tale about two people with extremely different natures trying to strive to keep their relationship together. Dumbledore bashing is a definite yes in this fic. The Marriage Stone - Josephine Darcy FanFiction.net Status: Work In Progress Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: To avoid the machinations of the Ministry, Harry must marry Severus Snape, who reluctantly agrees to protect the Boy Who Lived. But marriage to Snape is only the beginning of Harry's problems. Voldemort is on the move again, and before too long Harry's marriage may determine the fate of the world. Why Suggested: I consider this a classic though it isn't quite finished yet. As of right now it has 77 chapters. It's quite lengthy but even if you don't like lengthy fics I still urge you to read it. A romance/adventure fic. How Severus Spends His Summer Hols - sevs_lil_secret theSilverSnitch.net Status: Work In Progress Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: What is sexier than Severus on a vintage Harley? The same Harley with both Sev and Harry on board. Harry learns so much about the enigma he loves known as Severus Snape, when the man takes him with him to meet his friends in the US and to attend a motorcycle ralley in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Why Suggested: Another lengthy 'classic'. There is BDSM so I advise you not to read this if you are offended by it. It's very... hot. It was recommended by a friend of mine and after reading a few chapters of this I had to put the link up on this site. Currently 132 chapters. Can I say that this might as well be the longest SS/HP fic ever written? A New Outlook - leeann_pitbull theSilverSnitch.net Status: Complete Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: Secrets have been kept, but they are about to come out. Harry finds out all about Dumbledore’s manipulations, including the fact that Tom Marvolo Riddle aka Lord Voldemort aka You-Know-Who is Harry’s biological grandfather. What is Harry going to do? Why join the Dark Side and get revenge, of course! Evil and Manipulative Dumbledore, Ron and Hermione bashing, dark Harry, child abuse, non-con, SLASH (M/M and F/F), main pairing Harry/Snape AU Why Suggested: For those Harry/Snape fans that enjoy a good Dumbledore bashing. :D The story is very interesting and I've gotten many recs on it. Enjoy! Harry/Fenrir Stars That Align the Full Moon - The Dark Cyan Star FanFiction.net Status: Complete Rate: M/R/NC-17 Author's Summary: Harry was just a boy when he turns into a werewolf, against Fenrir’s wishes. That is until Fenrir discovers that this tiny pup is his mate and will do anything for him. What happens when the Ministry gets wind that Greyback has Harry in his custody? What happens when the two will get separated? There will be twists and turns in this, I can’t give too much away. Why Suggested: Since JK Rowling never really described the werewolf packs in detail this story does a great job on building what she already started. It is very realistic in it's additions. The story itself is very sweet. Especially when you've got a young Harry Potter running crazy and wild all over the wolf pack mansion. At first the pairing is rather one sided but it develops. Major Dumbledore bashing. Harry/Vincent The Chosen - allecto Personal Site Status: Complete Rate: NC-17/R/M Author's Summary: Vincent learned that at an early age, learned that numbers were the only things that didn't lie. Mothers lied, and fathers home from Azkaban, they lied a lot, and friends certainly lied. Numbers, though. Numbers never called him names, or sold him out to tall, cold men. Numbers were exactly what they claimed to be, and rather than manipulate him, Vincent could manipulate them. Numbers were cold, hard fact. Why Suggested: It's a very unusual pairing. Especially for Harry Potter to be paired with him. It's actually quite touching and lovely, don't let the fact that it's Vincent Crabble put you off. This fic puts him in a whole new light yet at the same time it kept Crabble in character. Super sweet but not too sweet. For those who like romance without the major fluff. Harry/Percy Precious and Fragile - Bittersweet Alias FanFiction.net Status: Work In Progress Rate: NC-17/R/M Author's Summary: He sat in the corner away from his family, silent unless the twins, Ron, or even Ginny decided to have a cruel go at him. Harry’d never given much thought to Percy until that day. Why Suggested: Rare pair galore! This author does a great job characterizing Percy. My heart actually ached through this fic! What I love about this one is that Percy is the sub. A lot of the Percy and Harry fics that I've come across automatically make Percy the more dominate one, but to me it makes sense that Percy's the sub so... whatever. This is quite a bit of fluff but also some agnst. I hope the author will finish it soon! Sirius Black/Severus Snape Hermitage - Fabula Rasa Thin Line Status: Complete Rate: NC-17 Author's Summary: After three years, Snape emerges from Azkaban. Who can put him back together? Why Suggested: Mini-novel length one-shot. Worth the read. You Can't Be Serious - JaimeyKay FanFiction.net Status: Complete Rate: PG-13 Author's Summary: AU. What if Sirius and Snape decided to raise Harry...together? Learning how to be patient is one thing, but learning how to love is something else entirely. Why Suggested: N/A Dudley Dursley/Percy Weasley How Dudley Did Something Useful With His Life - lordhellebore LiveJournal.com Status: Work in Progress Rate: PG-13 Author's Summary: Eight years ago, Percy Weasley disappeared in a Death Eater attack on the Ministry. Five years ago, Dudley Dursley decided to do something useful with his life. Finally, they meet under the most unlikely circumstances. Why Suggested: Oh don't look at me like that! This really is a story worth reading and don't mind the weird pairing. Get rid of all your Dudley hate and let lordhellebore re-characterize him for you. Seriously, this is a really good fic and you're missing out if you don't snatch this up and read. The fic encompasses a relationship for Harry and Draco that lasts decades and is most decidely, happily ever after. (The story was written and completed before HBP was published). |
