Pallygem Welsh Ponies

Welcome to the home of Pallygem Welsh Ponies.

The name 'Pallygem' originated from my Quarter Horse x ASH Mare, Gem who i purchased many moons ago at Windsor Sale yards in NSW, Australia.

 As a small girl i dreamed of owning a beautiful Palomino with a long flowing mane and tail that i could love and call my own.  During this day at the sales, i met, fell in love with and purchased my dear Gem. I Named her "My Precious Gem" which means of great worth or value and very rare and beautiful.

 Gem and i have been a team now for over 20years. We have competed in most sports mainly in Australia, and Gem proved to be a 'true blue all rounder'.  Although i know she is nearing time to cross the 'rainbow bridge' that all our beloved animals go, i have named my Welsh Pony Stud after her, so that many years from now, the progeny that we breed will carry Gem's name and spirit forever.

To my dearest Gem, thank you for always being the light in my life, and thank you for making a little girls dream come true. 

On 15 December 2003, Gem & Lofty gave me my wonderful grand daughter Spirit.  she was born a pale Palomino, and from the minute she hit the ground, i knew she was the one!  Jus tlike her mum she touched my heart in ways i didnt think possible apart from her mum.  

After being adjusted on a farm in Wanganui my dear filly became a mum much sooner in life than i would have liked, however, spring was a sweet foal and showed the same loving temperament that her mother and grandmother had shown over the years.

In 2007 due to financial and helath problems, i sold Spirit to a wonderful family in the South Island where she has come in leaps and bounds and is really a delight to watch!  ALthough it was very sad to part with her, i could not provide what she needed  and this wonderful family could.

Spring passed away in  March due to a 'paddock accident'.  Very traumatic for us all here, as we lost 2 generations in a matter of months. However both spirit and Spring will always be in the memory and dreams of Pallygem and the vision which brought it to light.

 19November 2008 - GREAT NEWS!!!! our girl is home!!!!!   A huge Huge thank you to Bellvue Lodge for all the love, care and attention you have given our girl during her time with you. I will never forget your kindness and i will be in touch regularly to let you know how she is going!!!  We are all wrapped to have her back home with us xoxo
