Welcome to my extremely limiting and makeshift website for Pakman. This site will be here to explain mostly just the tutorial, so it'll do its job whether it looks like total crap or not. If you don't know what BYOND is, goto http://www.byond.com. That'll explain everything about that. http://www.freewebs.com/peachblackca is the website of the guy that helped me to create this website (and gave me a kick-ass review).
Now onto the tutorial...
JUST STARTING
When you first enter the game, you will be a spectator who can move freely and observe the game. Take this time to view the game's maze, dead-end locations, and straight-aways. Located at the center of where you log-in is where the Pakmen spawn. Under that is a 3x3 square of blank area where the ghosts spawn. Also on that spot is where items appear everytime a Pakman is chomped by a ghost (there's a chance something won't appear there).
When moving, just tap the direction and you'll move continuously. And don't worry about turning to face a wall, it's impossible. The main aim of the game is to fulfill the requirements to win of whatever you are (Pak or Ghost). There are also two power-ups currently implemented. A cherry, which gives the Pak who eats it 100 pellets instantly (not added to global count), and a power pellet that makes the Pak who ate it able to chomp ghosts for 30 seconds. When a ghost is chomped, it loses all of its chomps (like a Pakman losing all of his pellets when he is chomped).
Intermediate Info
Ok, so you know how to play? Well here's some tips to start you on your way to knowledgable play. Keep in mind that the ghosts move the same speed as the Paks. This means that if the Pak has perfect movement and turning abilities, he will only be chomped if the ghosts plan their way on chomping him, or if he hits a dead end. Keep this is mind if you are chasing after an experienced Pakman (you'll see this often in the regulars).
Also, remember that if you just got chomped, there's a good chance an item has appeared on the ghost spawn. And if no ghosts are near you when you reappear on the Pak spawn, the item is easy picking.
Capture The Flag
So you're ready for Capture The Flag, eh? It's simple, so allow me to explain how it works. You got two teams, the Paks and the Ghosts. They are equal in basically EVERY WAY, so don't think that a ghost can chomp a pak with ease, because it depends on what color ground you're on. Paks own green, Ghosts own red. If both teams are on red, the ghost can chomp the pak, and likewise with green ground. Knowing that the ghosts hold the bottom-left, and the Paks hold the top-right, you have to grab the other team's flag, and bring it back to your own flag-hold spot. Note though, that while you have the flag, no matter where you are, you can be chomped if hit.
And that is it for info about Capture The Flag. Keep in mind that there is a solution to every seemingly problematic part of this mode, just search for it.
Pak Races
Pak Races are a way for multiple people to duke it out, in a race to gobble all the pellets in their seperate fields, first. In this mode, there are no ghosts, so you are merely racing against the other paks, to be the first...unless there's already someone that finished, then the second...then third...all the way to fifth. This mode is made with 16 25x25 maps, to support even the largest groups of eager gobblers.
Royal Battle
This mode is simple, yet difficult. The basics of it are that a leader is assigned to both teams by the host, before the game starts. Then after the game starts, there is only one goal, and it can only be achieved entirely, or not at all. You must chomp the other team's leader before they chomp yours. Once such is done, the game ends in win, loss, or in strange cases, tie. All chomps end in a clash, causing both players to get respawned in their death. So essentially, in this mode every player is a walking bomb. A large amount of players can be fun in a simple 25x25 map.
