| Introduction. |
False Heaven (its working name was Project #21) is a game of war made by me (ScouSin) on BYOND (http://www.byond.com). The main idea is to destroy the opposing team's supercomputer while protecting your own. This is achieved by researching technology, starting from the basics and going up from there. As of currently, there isn't much to see, and I won't guarantee anything (I hate it when everyone always says more to come, and nothing ever comes, so if nothing comes, don't say I said something would).
On this page will be the story to this game, as well as instructions on how to play the game. |
| Story. |
You wake up in an open field, with dirt mixed in with the grass. You are wearing a red emblem on your bicep with a designation written under it. Your deignation you assume. The emblem is certainly something you don't remember ever seeing before. You are also wearing plain black fatigues. You look around to see many others wearing the same things as you lying on the ground, on their backs unconcious...or dead. Something motionless. They look as if they were forced to lay, as if they were trying to lay as still and at attention as possible, at the risk of their lives. Also nearby, is a large black...'thing' as it could be described. On it are several colored lights and screens. Behind the black thing and to the sides behind it, you see the ground just stops, as if what you are standing on is flat. You reach out, curious as to what may happen if you reach beyond it. Your hand is stopped, as a force keeps you where you are at, as if it is one big wall.
As you lean up against the black thing, you start to wonder where you are. You recall some sort of identity...a designation...a name, but you don't remember if it is even correct. You can't even recall what not being here was like, or where you were before here. All you can actually conceive are how to talk and read scribblings of lines that are placed in specific places. Letters is what you think they're called.
As you continue to try and conceive what is going on, you see one of the people on the ground just get up, the same way you did. You stare at each-other, afraid of what the other may know or do. After a short while, more get up. Soon afterwords, communication starts to begin between you all, wondering what is going on. Each of you mentions a different concept that you seem to understand for no reason, like what food is, and what weather is.
Not long after you all wake up, the ground shifts faster than a bolt of lightning! It is as if the grass and dirt exists...then suddenly it changes to something else...sometimes a new patch of dirt or a new patch of grass. After this happens a few times, people start to think of it a little less.
After awhile, the black thing beeps violently, and flickers all of these lights. You, still leaning up against it, get frightened from the surprise of it. After it stops, one of the others in the crowd claims that they know what the black thing is. Then another person admits to understanding what it is too. After rabbling, it becomes clear that you all didn't know what it was until it beeped and lit up. You pose a theory, that it somehow zapped the knowledge into your minds. Everyone else there finds it to be reasonable.
The knowledge you all gained was that it was known as the 'Zinghou' (zing-oo) supercomputer, and that you will die if it gets destroyed. This knowledge frightens some of the people in the group. One of the people threatens to kill anyone who gets too close to the supercomputer. Soon after he does this, one of the screens lights up, and starts to create the readable letters;
YOU ALL HAVE THE SIGN OF ZINGHOU ON YOUR ARMS, THUS YOU ARE PART OF THE ZINGHOU THAT EXIST BECAUSE OF MY EXISTANCE, AND MY EXISTANCE ALONE. IN THE DISTANCE YOU WILL FIND THE YOSHIRU (yah-sheer-oo) PEOPLE. THEY ARE EVIL AND ARE DEVOTED TO THE DESTRUCTION OF ME.
After this is displayed, the screen turns off. You realize that this means your death if it gets destroyed, as it made you know earlier. One of the others suggests that touching it causes it to give knowledge. And with this notion, he rushed to the supercomputer, hugging it. He shouts for everyone else to touch it, if they value their lives. Soon afterwards the supercomputer beeps violently again, as everyone gains the knowledge of fighting, and of the feeling of bloodlust. Several of the others shout, as they lead the now bloodthirsty crowd off to the new-found understanding of where the Yoshiru group was. Behind the group is you, hesitating...wondering why the Yoshiru would want to kill you all.
As you follow the group, you see a mob of people wearing black fatigues, and having a blue emblem on their biceps. Straining your eyesight, you can see another supercomputer in the distance. You now understand everything. You now understand that both sides aren't fighting out of hate, or the hopes of killing, they are fighting out of fear of death, that the other side will kill them first.
You immediately run back to the Zanghou supercomputer, shouting for answers as to why it is making them fight, kicking it. All it does is beep a few words;
LIFE OR DEATH! LIFE OR DEATH! LIFE OR DEATH!
As you take note of what the two supercomputers have forced you all to do, you run off to fight for your survival, mournful that life would be perfect here, hadn't there been this bloody war. |
| The Physics of False Heaven. |
False Heaven is a nightmarish Hell, with gold wrapping, so if you want to be here after the fall of a supercomputer, you must learn how everything works, and if you are lucky enough, WHY it works.
Death - In False Heaven, the only true death is what occurs after your supercomputer is destroyed. So you may brawl endlessly and fear no repurcussions of death except a minor wait before a 'respawn'. Noone on False Heaven understands why exactly your body is taken off the field, and brought back to the supercomputer of their side, but some theories suggest that the supercomputers hold their souls, and keep it safe while they exist. Others guess that it's something with the emblems they each have.
The Ground - Every minute the ground will change shape, officially 'respawning' the land, sometimes as a new kind. Just like the handling of deaths, noone understands this strange occurance. No theories could be thought up about why this happens.
The Planes - There are two levels of existance in False Heaven. One being the overhead flat world, where the ground is thin, and the world where gravity exists, and the ability to move higher, at the forfeit of a reasonable moving space. The supercomputer allows passage through these two areas freely. Some theories on it are that they are found beyond the barriers, but can't be seen.
Gravity - The gravity in False Heaven is quite weak of a pull, as the inhabitants can jump a good 5 or so feet before being pulled back down. This also reflects on the quite lenient fall speed, and the lower weight of objects you may find, as well as the lack of danger from falling from great heights. Strangely enough though, the dirt, supercomputers, and other objects in False Heaven are not affected by gravity in the slightest bit. The main theory among the inhabitants is that the emblems somehow pull them downward, like there's a magnet under the barrier at the bottom of False Heaven.
Researching - It is proven that touching the supercomputer allows the ability to gain knowledge of concepts. At times, there may be a choice of concepts. At such times, you merely have to think about the choice on the monitor to research it specifically. |
| Instructions. |
Commands:
Say - Let's you speak to everyone in False Heaven.
Who - Let's you see who is playing in False Heaven.
Stats:
HP - Your hit points before you will die.
Players - The amount of players on either team in False Heaven.
Supercomputer Health - The life points of the supercomputers, before they die and the game is won/lost.
Research Guide - Here is where what you are researching and how close it is to being finished will be displayed.
Inventory - What you are currently holding will be shown here.
Clicking (only works when next to what you are clicking):
Other Team Members - Hits them.
Other Team's Supercomputer - Hits it.
Your Supercomputer - Brings up the list of options for your supercomputer.
List of options at your supercomputer:
Research - Research a technology. If there is more than one option available, a list of available options will appear. If there is only one option, from here it will start to research it. While researching something, it will appear in your statpanel, as well as its progress. The more people researching one technology, the faster it gets researched. If you wish to abort researching (progress gained is not lost), simply click on the supercomputer.
Research Status - To be implemented.
Switch Planes - This allows you to warp to the other plain of existance in False Heaven. The supercomputers in the opposite plains are the same in how they share the same life, both can be used for researching, and both share objects stored in them.
Store/Remove Stuff - Store or remove items from the supercomputer. Items should be stored because it gives the chance to dicover new technologies to research, and to give your teammates a chance to use anything that you may find, that you may not have a use for immediately. When you select this option, anything in your inventory that you click, will be stored. Also, a panel will open up showing the contents of your supercomputer. Click anything in this panel to remove it. When you are done storing/removing stuff, click on the supercomputer.
When discovering how researched technologies work, it is up to you to see what they do, how they work, and how to get the most out of them. Note that the significance or reactions from technologies may differ from plain to plain. |
