I started out with piczo like everybody else. Tacky. What can I say? It wasn't really a hit. My sites were never really "popular". They were more personal and for my friends to see. I got really blown away by some sites. And learned basic coding. Then I signed up for freewebs. I didn't pick the html version so I was really confused so I went back to piczo. But I got so annoyed by piczo and spent a long time figuring out freewebs. I made cloudy-days, then I moved to painted-dark.
The Name
Finding the name was probably the toughest thing to do. I lacked of so much originality though I came up with a few names and other people helped. But when I asked some friends and family they all had different opinions. It was really stuck between painted-dark, flyhome and chaoticlove. I saw "painted-love" in a list of site name ideas on someone's site. My sister really liked it and I liked the sound of it too. I love art and that kind of goes with "painted" and "dark" is the opposite of "light" and it's sort of means to me like "stand out". I really love words related to darkness, stars, and the moon. I originally did not want to put a hyphen in the name though I did not want to have double d's beside each other. It would have looked strange. Painted-dark was free so I signed up.
The Layout
I may forget to update this section, but here it goes. This is version one of painted-dark. I made this layout in photoshop elements(I know it sucks, but I don't have a better program). I call it "clouds are rolling in". It features an image of clouds over the ocean I found on flickr. I really love landscape, sky, ocean, star photography. Photography in general.
