The United Filipino Organization (UFO) is a student-led organization that promotes Filipino awareness not only within the school, but also within the community. This organization is not just a club, but also a family where members become stronger friends and is a forum for members to discover a heritage filled with rich history, culture, and traditions. UFO is not only for Filipinos, but also for anybody who has an interest in learning more about the Filipino culture.
UFO is known to be one of the largest and most active high school organizations within the Delano community. One of the more highly anticipated events that the organization holds is Pilipino Cultural Night (PCN), which is an annual event in the spring where students express the Filipino culture through song, skit, and cultural & modern dances. This year's PCN (2006) will be our 11th time hosting this event.
There are two chapters within UFO: DHS UFO, which was founded within the Delano High Campus in 1972, and CCHS UFO, which was founded during the opening of the Cesar E. Chavez High Campus in 2003. We are proud to know that we are a strong organization and we hope to see your support in our efforts to promote & preserve the Filipino culture.
