Fayette County Special Fire Police Association Established 10/07/92

Mission Statement

To provide scene safety, security, and traffic control for emergency service personnel, as well as the public at emergency and non emergency incidents. To be prepared when called upon to do our duty in local and state disasters.

 

The Fayette County Special Fire Police Association is one of six units making up the Fayette County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team. Our duties are the same, scene safety and security of search operations. We answer directly to the Fayette County Sheriff.

A few of the outstanding that the Association has participated in are:

  • PGA Golf Tournament, 2004: traffic control, assisting Pennsylvania State Police
  • Visit by Prince Andrew of England, 2004: worked in cooperation with the American and English Secret Service, the F.B.I., local and State police providing security and traffic control.
  • Assisted with Pets Need a Voice, Too Pet Memorial to remember the lost pets affected by the 2007 pet food recall
  • Assisted the Fayette Friends of Animals with their 6th Annual ExPawsition at the Christian Klay Winery

The Association also provides traffic control for numberous large events during the year. In 2006, the Fayette County Special Fire Police Association was presented with a volunteer community award byt the Fayette County Commisioners.
