Bor na Mona's railways in Ireland are a last bastion of commercial operation of Ruston & Hornsby locomotives, albeit greatly rebuilt ones. There are now six Wagonmasters being fitted with new engines and transmissions at Boora works, to replace some of the remaining Rustons. Given a replacement ratio of at least 2:1, and probably 3:1, 2007 could be the last summer of extensive Ruston use. See the menu to the left for a page with photos of some of these beasts.

I added the words here because, to me, they form a suitable motto for the pursuit of narrow gauge railways, a happier form of transport than which, I cannot conceive of.
