John Kiffmeyer

    John Kiffmeyer, a.k.a. Al Sobrante (referring to of hometown El Sobrante) was born in 1969 in California.   John is a left handed drummer  who started out drumming for the band Isocracy.  When Isocracy split up John joined Green Day, but at the time was known as Sweet Children, he helped the band start out by booking performances and also knew Lawrence Livermore who played a major role in Green Day's career.  John decided to go to college at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California and left Green Day without telling Billie Joe Armstrong.  Al was then replaced by Tre Cool without being notified.  John then joined the band  The Ne'er Do Wells, and then left in 1994.  He was with The Ritalins, then became manager of The Shruggs until they broke up.  He also produced The Lost Troublemakers Album by The Troublemakers.  Now Al lives in San Francisco, California with his wife, Greta, and his so, Lolo.
