Metal Gear Solid 20th Anniversary Party
v.3?
MGO V.2 Before MGS4?
Man, I remember telling the last few people I fought with in MGO (from MGS3 Subsistence), "see you in MGO v.2". I thought v.2 would come with MGS4 but MGS4's Metal Gear Online might be v.3 depending on release dates. Today it was announced, Metal Gear Solid Online will be a new game for the PS3. No, it's not another expansion, it's just a normal PS3 game. Let's check out what's what. Metal Gear Solid Online will allow up to 16 people in multiplayer, includes same characters, stages and controls as MGS4 and new game modes and environments as well as new tactics for teams. From the pictures, it looks like you can also create and customize your own character, pretty sweet! There will be a beta of Metal Gear Solid online from 8/20 until 9/3. Konami will pick 3,000 testers and they will be accepting applications from today (7/24) until Monday (8/6) at 12:00. You will need to register for a free Konami ID and register at the beta site. I believe the beta will only work in Japan because when you register for the beta, you have to give your Playstation Network ID, but it is not confirmed.
April 2nd, 2007- It is now 9:46pm on the east coast of the United States. I have urgent news on the N/A MGO Server crisis-
ATTENTION-ALL NORTH AMERICAN MGO SERVERS WILL BE SHUT DOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 12:00 AM ON APRIL 3RD, 2007. Finish off your last hours, farewell.
April 2nd, 2007- It is approximately 12:56 here on the east coast of the United States and today marks the last day of North American online play of Metal Gear Online. It has been public for a while but Konami is deciding to pull the plug on all North American MGO servers on April 2nd. This sucks so much because Metal Gear Online delivered such a great online experience. A lot of people on the servers right now are upset and paying tribute to the last few hours of MGO. We will all miss it, it has been fun. So for now people are fighting out their last matches, having gatherings, taking pictures, shooting rifles into the air, saluting and messing with each other. Well for now, I'll have to resort to Portable Ops online servers. Hopefully we'll all see each other in Metal Gear Online V2. Farewell everybody it has been fun. (ID) SnakeRCash -out. R.I.P.
