Our story on becoming parents...

This is for all our family and friends to read as we travel more than half way around the world to become parents.

For those that are not familiar with our story... Here it is.

We were married in 2002. On our first anniversary we decided to try to start a family. After several months of disappointment, we discovered that my tubes were blocked and damaged. A wonderful Dr tried several surgeries to try and save the tubes...But God had another plan for us.

One day while driving down the road, God opened a door for Darren and I ! That was the beginning of a private domestic adoption. We began to love this baby that was growing inside the womb of another wonderful woman. But again, God had other plans. God used us to help and save this child and mother. Now he is close to a year old and is with his biological mother , who loves him very much. It took months to recover the loss and disappointment. But with each other and our faith, we recovered.

Months later, being scared of adoption. We traveled down to see a IVF Dr. We were very excited but asked God to show us our path. A few days later the Dr called and said that he would need to remove my tube in order to have a high success rate with IVF. God had answered our prayers. I could not remove the tube and give up on God. He heals people everyday. My wonderful husband never batted a eye with this choice. He knew that God had answered.

Without another thought to IVF, we knew God had a child for us. We just had to find him or her. We chose a agency that we felt God led us to and begin the IA process the end of March of 2005. We had started off in Russia and after months of prayers and research... God led us to Kazakhstan in Oct.

Most of our family and friends and even Darren and I had never heard of this country but here we went. It has taken a few months and several road blocks, but our paperwork ( dossier) is in the New York Consulate to get approved.

One it is approved, it will then go on to the country of Kaz and we wait for our LOI ( letter of invite). We hope to travel by mid-summer and return home with our child from God. The trip will be long and enduring but God is our counselor and he will provide the wisdom and safety we will need. The trip will be about 4-6 weeks. Darren will return after 3-3.5 weeks and I will bring home our child a few weeks later.

For now, Please pray that our paperwork ( dossier) gets through the consulate and through the next few steps with no delays. Pray that God will show us the child he has conceived for us .
