Our Visa Journey

Experiences with UK Immigration

Congratulations!

Ok, so you have decided to get married......Now the fun begins! You have to decide where you want to get married. In the US or in the UK? Because of the now changing rules of the UK, if you decide to get hitched there you will need a fiance visa in order to enter the UK to get married. If you decide to go to the UK on a tourist visa and do it you are going to more than likely run into some problems. Whether or not you decide to get married in a civil ceremony (registrars office) or a church, you will still have to get the licence....which will mean that they will need to see your passport. Not the best idea if you skipped the fiance visa and flew over on a tourist visa! Could risk deportation etc etc. **See details on LINKS page**

*Note*  If this is a second marriage, unless you are widowed the Catholic Church won't marry you & ALOT of CE (Church of England) won't either. It DOES not matter who divorced who......the keyword here is DIVORCED! They don't like it.

We decided to get married in the US. Less red tape. We were married in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! My husband flew over on the VWP (visa waiver program) Basically a tourist visa......got our marriage licence and then just did it! I have included links to various wedding packages on the links page. Whether you want something elegant or a Las Vegas style wedding, I would recommend wedding packages! Takes away all the stress of planning.......(Save it you will need it for all the legal stuff)
