Title: Veronica Mars [is short]

Characters: Dick, Veronica, mentions of Love

Rating: PG (for a slight sexual reference, barely)

Spoilers:  um, it takes place after Poughkeepsie, Tramps, & Thieves, but it’s not very episode centric

Summary: Dick notices something obvious about Veronica

A/N:  This was inspired by an lj challenge to writ a tiny fic inspired by your icon.  so that’s what I did.

Disclaimer:  All belongs to Rob Thomas and the cw

Logan’s not home and you don’t really know why you’re here.  You guys broke up, you don’t have the right to sit on his couch in his apartment waiting for him.  But you sit there, waiting.  When the door opens, you jump, but it’s not him.  “Ver-on-ic-a!”  Dick greets you as he saunters into the room.  You roll your eyes.  This is the last thing you need.  “Where’s Logan?”  He asks as he plops down on the couch next to you.  “Wait-”  he says in mock shock, “Didn’t you guys…like…break up?”  You stand up.  “I was just leaving.”  He smirks at you.  “Ronnie…Am I making you nervous?”  You turn around.  “You always make me nervous, Dick.”  You say sarcastically.  “You want me don’t you, Ronnie?”  He says standing up.  “More than ever.”  You deadpan.  He walks up to you but stops with a confused look on his face.  More confused than usual.  “What is it, Dick?”  You ask.  He just stares at the top of your head.  “You.  Are.  Short.”  “You just noticed that?”  “No, like REALLY short,”  he argues.  You’re getting aggravated.  “Is there a point to this?”  “No, it’s like you’re really short and I’ve never even noticed before.  I mean like freakishly you-should-be-twelve sort of short.”  You just glare at him now.  “I prefer the term “petite”.”  At that moment Logan walks in the apartment.  You all just kind of look at each other in silence.  “Dude,”  Dick says to Logan, “Your girlfriend is like SHORT.”  You sigh and storm out of the room, and Logan looks at you amazed and confused.  You make a resolution to NEVER talk to Dick again.  And to start wearing heels.

Veronica Wasn't In Love With Him

title: Veronica Wasn’t in Love With Him Characters: Veronica, Duncan, Logan, Weevil Genre: Romance/Angst Spoilers: um, yeah. basically the end of season 1 Rating: PG Summery: Basically my version of the premiere of season 2, told from the point of view of Weevil Disclaimer: The characters or story line does not belong to me but to Rob Thomas and UPN. Anything italicized is completely stolen from the script of “A Trip To The Dentist”. Those lines do not belong to me. ******************************************************************************************** Weevil knew Veronica wasn’t in love with him. He wasn’t sure how he felt about her, though. It sure well wasn’t love. He hoped. He knew Veronica and Logan would end up together. You just didn’t hate that passionately. So when one of his biker friends cracked a joke about the two of them, Weevil wasn’t surprised. But he couldn’t help feeling jealous…..and surprisingly protective. That day, when Logan was chasing after Veronica, and she was so desperately trying to get away, Weevil couldn’t help but feel protective of his girl. Because that was what Veronica was to him. His girl. But he knew Veronica wasn’t in love with him. He remembered their conversation from that day clearly: “You see when they run away like that, it's kind of a hint they're not interested.” Weevil has said. “Look, you do not want to start with me today, paco.” Logan growled back. “Are you sure? It was in my day planner under goals“. “How is this your business?” Logan said. “Well I'm just looking out for Veronica. So if you think you're going to lay a hand on her the way you did Lilly…” “You stay away from Veronica.” Logan had said after a few trivial spats about Lilly. That’s when he truly knew Logan was in love with Veronica. But Logan knew Veronica wasn’t in love with him. Weevil always knew Duncan was in love with Veronica. It had always been obvious. It was always a sure thing. Weevil knew that little blonde girl, Meg, knew too. She could try to tell herself that it wasn’t true, but deep down she knew it was. Duncan knew it too, but he also knew that Veronica wasn’t in love with him. That day when Weevil overheard Veronica say that Logan killed Lilly all he could concentrate on was the extreme hurt and sadness in her voice. He had to hurt Logan the way he hurt Veronica. Weevil found Logan on the bridge a flask open I his hand. The alcohol was dripping into the motionless body of water below. “Veronica, Veronica.” He was saying his voice hushed, and embedded with hurt, anger, and sadness. Suddenly Weevil knew it wasn’t Logan who hurt Veronica, but Veronica who hurt Logan. “Logan,” Weevil said calmly. “Hey!!” Logan said with mock excitement. “Logan,” Weevil repeated. “Veronica wouldn’t want you to do this.” “Yesss, shhhee would.” Logan slurred. “Shhe’d pushh me herself.” “No she wouldn’t.” Sighed Weevil, he really didn’t know why he was doing this. “She loves you.” Weevil pushed out the words calmly. Logan stepped down from the ledge. “You think so?” Logan said hopefully. “Yeah, I do.” Weevil lied. Weevil threw a black helmet at the ’09er and told him to get on. “No way,” Logan said proudly. “I’m going to Blondie’s. You can come or not.” Logan looked at him stubbornly and got on the bike. Weevil drove to Veronica’s apartment. This was going to be interesting. Weevil stopped the bike and noticed Logan was starring at the doorway of Veronica’s apartment. “Is that….” Logan said in disbelief. At the door was Duncan talking to surprised Veronica. Veronica glanced up and saw the two of them starring. It’s true what they say. Veronica really is a marshmallow. At that moment you could see about 90 emotions on her face. And there was one distinct thing Weevil could tell that night. Veronica wasn’t in love with him. Veronica wasn’t in love with Logan. Veronica wasn’t in love with Duncan. She was in love with all three of them. And they were in love with her.

The Kiss

Title: The Kiss Rating: G-PG Characters: Duncan, Logan, Veronica Spoilers: Weapons of Class Destruction, hints of M.A.D. Summery: Takes place during Weapons Of Class Destruction, the reason why Duncan really left Neptune. Slightly an ult universe fic, considering we know things to figure this didn’t happen, but oh well… Disclaimer: Characters and storyline belong to the brilliant Rob Thomas and UPN ************************************************************************************************************************ Duncan had gone to look for Veronica. To say he was sorry. To promise her he would never hurt her. To ask her if she knew something about him he didn’t. But she was nowhere to be found. He knew she wasn’t his Veronica anymore. She wouldn’t be in Lilly’s room laughing, or sitting on the beach tanning, or sipping cappuccinos at The Hut. It made sense that she had changed. But Duncan hadn’t, not really. He drove around for hours, it seemed, looking for her. Maybe it was only minutes. He could never really tell, anymore. Not sense Lilly. He drove aimlessly, just hoping to spot her blonde head in the crowd. It wasn’t until he took that road that led pass the Camelot, that he saw it. If he hadn’t turned his head right at that moment, he would have never saw Veronica‘s car. But he did and that’s the important thing. A thought ran through his head about why Veronica would be here, but he hastily pushed it aside. All that mattered was that she was. He was so concentrated on finding her that he didn’t even notice Logan’s Jeep next to her car. He walked towards the stone steps, but froze when he saw Logan emerge from one of the rooms. He told himself it was just a coincidence, but he couldn’t help but remember times when he saw Logan and Veronica talking that he swore he saw that “look” in his eyes. But maybe it was just a coincidence. That’s what he told himself, anyways. Duncan watched Logan pace, nervously. And then he saw her. Veronica emerged from the same room and walked up to Logan. Duncan took a deep breath. Be calm, he told himself, It’s probably nothing. He couldn’t hear what they were saying, but he could see. He could see too well that Veronica kissed Logan. And that Logan grabbed Veronica and began kissing her longer, deeper. Like he had kissed Lilly. Duncan stepped back, stumbling, not wanting them to see him, like some Peeping Tom. Duncan gripped the stirring wheel until deep red blood spilled from his hands. He would leave, he decided. And when he came back, he would make sure Veronica chose between them. Once and for all.

Lilly

Title: Lilly Genre: General Rating: G Characters: Lilly, Meg, mentions of veronica, logan, and Duncan spoilers: takes place Right after that first scene in “I Am God (2.18)”. The one where Veronica says “Why did we break up again?” Logan goes, “I think it was because I was too much man for you…..No wait. You were too much man. That’s right.” Summery: Lilly travels around the school and runs into a familiar ghostly face Disclaimer: The characters, as we all know, belong to UPN (but not for long) and the amazingly talented director and writer Rob Thomas. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************* Lilly sighed as she watched Veronica walk away from Logan. “Ver-on-ica!” she yelled sing-songly, even though she knew she couldn’t hear her. Being dead sucked. She walked, floated actually, to where Logan stood, grinning at the back of the snarky blonde’s head. “You’ve got it bad, Lover.” Lilly said to an oblivious Logan. The bell rang and Logan headed towards an unknown class. She followed him until she noticed which class it was. Calculus. Eww. Lilly continued down the hall until she saw a ghostly figure frowning at an insanely large poster. She recognized the girl right away. Meg Manning. She had met her before. Before she died. She was one of those too-nice-to-be-real cheerleaders. Then Duncan tried to replace Veronica with her. It had all gone downhill from there. The girl turned, blonde hair swaying and looked at Lilly. Her eyes grew wide. “Oh my gosh, aren’t you like….” A flash of realization went over Meg’s face. “Of course you are. I’m dead. Duh.” They both turned and stared at the poster. A bus with wings was painted on it. “Funny. I didn’t get a page in the yearbook.” Meg turned to Lilly, solemnly. “Everyone wanted to forget how Lilly Kane died.” Meg said quietly. Lilly laughed ackwardly and said, “It sucks, doesn’t it? People not knowing how you really died?” They both knew the truth. The bus was no accident. Lilly hated this. She was about to get all serious. “Do you forgive Veronica for taking Duncan?” she asked. She just had to know who this girl was. Meg looked at Lilly, then quickly glanced at the poster. “ I don’t know. I never really hated her for it. What about you? About Logan?” Lilly smiled, flipping her hair, revealing a scar where a gushing wound used to be. “The thing about being dead is…well, your dead. I’ve been “haunting” Veronica for two years. I kind of saw it coming. Plus, Logan and I were never meant-to-be or whatever. Sure I loved him, but not the way Veronica does.” Lilly slid down the wall until she was sitting on the floor. “The old Veronica would have never worked with him. But new rocker-chick Veronica is another story. There’s nothing to forgive.” Meg stared at Lilly until another blonde figure entered their little circle. Veronica. Veronica ripped down Meg’s photo and replaced it with a picture of Meg and Veronica from last year’s “Total Eclipse Of The Heart”. Veronica as “Vanilla-whore-Barbie”. Meg as “pretty-in-pink” Meg laughed. “Rest in peace, Meg.” Veronica whispered. “Maybe I will.” said Meg as she began to fade into nothingness. Lilly pouted. “Now why can’t I do that?!”

                            Title: Love Him
 Pairing/Character: Weevil/Veronica, mentions of Logan/Veronica
 Rated: Gish
 Spoilers: Everything through 2.22
Summery: Veronica goes to see Weevil in jail.

You pick up the phone because just staring at him could be dangerous for your health.  Your first thought is to comment on the fact that he really shouldn’t wear orange.  But you decide not to.  He finally speaks and you let out a breath.  Apparently you weren’t breathing.
“Hey, V.  Come to bail me out?”  He bats those eyelashes at you.
“Seems to me, you can’t get bail after being convicted for murder, Weevil.”  He smirks at you and your stomach flips in a way you’re telling yourself it didn’t.
“And here I thought you’d use your super-nancy-drew skills to express your undying love for me.”
“Not so much.” You snap.  You put the phone back and yell for the guard.  You think you might cry because you really want to use said Nancy Drew skills.  But deep down you know the truth and you just can’t.  Not now.

The second time you go see him, the conversation lasts a little longer and you have questions.  He picks up the phone first this time.
    “Hey V,” he says.
    “Weevil.”
“You come to interrogate me?”  You sigh in irritation.
“Did Thumper kill Felix?”  His face suddenly becomes very serious.
    “Yes.”
    “Did you kill Thumper?”
“Nope.  My favorite ‘09er did.  I believe you know him.  That ritch boy that blew up Shark Field.”
“Emlpoded.”  You say automatically and Weevil cocks his head at you.
“You are one strange girl, Veronica.”
“Did you put him in there, or didn’t you?”
“Of course not, that was all the Fitzpatricks.”
“I see,” you say rather coldly and get up to leave.
“Wait.” He says before you have a chance to put the phone down.  You give him a look that you know is more quizzical than anything and sit back down.
“We both know what went down with the Fitzpatricks and Thumper, but …the crash…..I heard it was that ‘09er.  Casablancas.  What happened, V?”  You look in his dark eyes and it all comes back in a sharp nightmare.  The rooof, the gun, Logan, the plane, the jump.
“It was Bea - Cassidy.”  You pause .  You don’t want to remember everything you tried so hard to forget.
    “Why?”
“He was a sick, messed up kid.  Woody Goodman didn’t help much.”  Weevil looks at you strangely and you sigh once again.
“Don’t make me explain it.”  you say.  You’re almost crying now.  And you hope he doesn’t notice your tears.
“Veronica?”  And you know he sees them.  You stand up and you know you’ll leave this time.
    “Bye, Eli.”

It’s a long time before you see him again.  You tell yourself you go to his trial because a) it’s human interest and b) Cliff’s his lawyer.  Good ol’ Cliff.  Always picking the good ones.  You sit in the back so he won’t see you.  It doesn’t work of course.  As soon as he sits in the witness stand, he looks you in the eye and you feel caught.
“Eli Navarro, do you swear to say the truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God?”
    “I do.”
They let Weevil go on probation, courtesy of the lack of evidence.
You, weevil, and Cliff leave together.
“So, I hear you’re back with Echolls….”says Weevil.
“Uh…I should go…Tell your dad to call me, Veronica.” Cliff says.  You think he’s smart for leaving, but you know you can’t.  You nod because that’s the best explanation you have.  He corners you between your car and a wall and practically yells,
    “Why, Veronica?!?”
“I think I love him.”  He backs up and you think he’s actually shocked.
    “Well..I think I love you.”
    “No.”  You whisper.
“No??”  He kisses you harshly and you kiss him back.
“You love him, huh?  Good luck with that.”

title: eternal bliss
chars/pairings: lilly, ensemble.  slight WeeVer and Meg/Duncan
rating: g-ish
summary: lilly just wants to be happy.
AN: time and events may be screwed up a little.  the dead don't care about time.
disc: everything belongs to RT as always.

Lilly wonders why she can’t have eternal bliss.  She realizes she’s not perfect.  She’s a little meaner, a little sluttier than she needs to be.  But she was, she IS, fabulous!  And she’s not going to be a tag along in someone else’s life.  But she had no choice,

She haunted Veronica awhile.  Long enough to see that Veronica was fabulous herself now.  She was no Lilly Kane, but she was Veronica Mars.  And she has guys falling at her feet.  She finds it hilarious that the two boys that are in love with Veronica Mars, once loved Lilly Kane.  It makes her question things.  She hates questions.  So she leaves.

She tries Logan next.  But even Lilly Kane can feel the scars of a broken past.

So, she finds Weevil.  By the time she find his Mexican butt, he’s in a cell with a hairy guy named Bruno.  She thinks this could prove to be interesting.  But it proves to be deliriously boring when all Weevil can talk about is Veronica Mars and Lamb and graduation and Thumper and blah freaking blah.

So, she finds Donut.  He’s sitting in a chair reading some tabloid Lilly never really cared about.  He looks up suddenly and she think he’s seen her.  He’s gripping the tabloid so tight his knuckles are pale.  “Lilly!”  he screams.  And she stumbles back.  But he’s not looking towards her, anymore.  He’s looking towards the kitchen.  It’s not until now that she hears the soft coos of a baby.  She runs toward the tiny room and peers in. The girl looks up and she realizes this is the Lilly Donut was screaming to.
She has Donut’s dark, brooding eyes and the pale blonde hair and a smile of a girl Lilly’s only met in dreams.  “So”  she thinks “this is the product of two nearly perfect specimens.”  He picks up Lilly and shows her the tabloid that he’s holding so dear.  “Celebrity Assassinated” it read in large, bolded letters.  And under the words was a picture of Aaron Echolls.  “Lilly, look” Donut whispers, “This is who murdered your aunt.  He’s dead, Lilly, he’s dead.”  Lilly could feel hot tears flooding her cheeks.  He was dead.  He was really dead.  With every tear she began to fade.  Lilly Kane could finally be happy.  It was time for some good old fashioned eternal bliss.

title:  for what it’s worth
rating:  low pg-13
chars:  Mac, Logan, Dick, Veronica, Wallace, Piz, vague mentions of Cassidy and Aaron
spoilers:  basically the aftermath of spit and eggs
summary:  Mac talks to Logan about the breakup of LoVe
disclaimerbelongs to Rob Thomas, duh.

She thinks that Logan must be stupid.  Mentally challenged.  Not all there.  Has a screw loose.  Crazy.  Wallace hasn’t been too helpful, either.  “Maybe it’s for the best, Mac.”  he had said to her.  Veronica was in denial.  “I’m fine, Mac.  Really I am.”  But everyone knows that when Veronica Mars is “fine” the whole world is going to Hell.  And Mac gets it.  Veronica and Logan have issues.  Logan wants help and Veronica wants to suffer alone.  Mac blames Aaron Echolls.  It seems reasonable .   He’s Satan, afterall.  But, Veronica is happy with Logan.  Was.  Was happy.  She’d talk to Piz, but he’s been a little too friendly with Veronica for comfort.  And Weevil.  She didn’t even want to go into that circle of unrequited love.  So, against her better judgement she decides to talk to the problem, himself.

She closes her eyes as the elevator goes up.  Every ding makes her muscles tighten more and more.  It reminds her of things she’d rather not remember.  Just as she was about to push the “lobby” button and run out of the Neptune Grand like her life depended on it, the door opened and there stood Dick Casablancas.   Her heart flipped and for a moment she forgot whatever it was that she was thinking before.  “He was just using you.”  A sharp pain surged through Mac.  “Screw you, Dick.”  she spat out.  “Gladly.”  he said smugly.  She glared at him and shoved her way between him and the wall.  She took a deep breath and knocked on Logan’s door.  Logan stared at her, dumbfounded.  He ran his hand through his hair.  “Uh…Mac? ….what are you doing here?”  Mac looked at the ground and shuffled her feet (styled in converse) and seriously considered leaving.  “I….uh….never mind.  This was a bad idea.  I’m sorry.”  She turns around quickly and starts walking toward the elevator.  “Mac.”  he says and she turns around.  He pauses.  “For what it’s worth, I think he loved you.”  She looks at him closely, studying him.  “Thanks Logan.  Really.  And for what it’s worth, she loves you.”  He looks at her and opens his mouth as if to say something.  “What?”  she asks.  “Why did you come here?  You don’t even like me.”  She laughs.  “To tell you how stupid you were for giving up on Veronica Mars.  And to administrate some sort of threat If you wouldn’t agree to give her another chance.”  She’s pretty sure the word to describe his face is astonished.  “I didn’t give up on her.  I just couldn’t handle it anymore.”  “What do you think “giving up” is, Logan?”

title: the act of forgetting
rating: G
chars: Mac, Veronica, Cassidy, Dick, Parker
spoilers: basically 2.22 and tiny bit of season 3 (you should know who parker and piz are)
summary: mac thinks about the way things are now.  after Cassidy.
disc: everything belongs to Rob Thomas, who is my hero and the cw, who is pretty darn fabulous

She tries to forget about that night.  She concentrates on Parker and partying with Veronica.
When she sees Dick, her heart breaks all over again.  He’s so broken.  He may be the spawn of Satan, but she can tell he’s in pieces.  She avoids the Neptune Grand all together.  She takes alternate routes.  And she never ever drives by his house.  But sometimes she goes to that pizza place.  The one where he first kissed her.  But, only because Parker likes it there.  And she can’t bring herself to tell her about Cassidy.  Parker may not be as naïve as she once was, but she’s not strong enough for Cassidy.  For Beaver.  Veronica never brings it up.  They have this unsaid treaty.  Veronica doesn’t ask what happened in the room.  And Mac doesn’t ask about the roof.  They talk about school.  And music.  And cases.  And Parker.  And Piz.  And Logan.  But they never talk about Cassidy.  And they never talk about Dick, because he leads down dangerous paths.
