Geography of the Baltic region is thoroughly intertwined with the lands around it. The ancestors of the current Baltic population have developed deep-rooted relations with the bordering regions, partially, because they have often belonged to the same domains, principalities, and empires in the course of their history. In this section you will find a collection of authentic historic maps, and later, some documents that defined the boundaries between nations over time.

At the time of first publication, there are four maps from 1776 to the 1940.

География Прибалтики основательно связана с окружающими ее землями. Предки жителей Прибалтийских государств создали глубоко идущие связи с их соседями, частично потому что через века они нередко принадлежали оной обширной территории, королевству или империи. В данном разделе помещены электронные копии исторических карт. Со временем возможно и помещение исторических документов.

На момент публикации в интернете, в разделе имеется четыре карты с 1776 года по 1940-й.

This map comes from XXX atlas, which was printed in Germany during 1873.

The subdivisions within the Russian Empire are clearly visible for the Baltic region.

The peninsula and the port of Memel are part of the German Empire.

Данная карта взята из ХХХ атласа, изданном в Германии в 1873 году. Разграничения внутри Российской Империи здесь четко показаны. Мемельский порт и полуостров показаны как часть Германской Империи.

This is a detailed, midwar map of Latvia. It was printed in Germany in 1939. Latvia, unlike Estonia and Lithuania does not appear to have had any territorial changes from the peace treaties of early 20's to current day.

Карта Латвии в период между воинами (первая мировая и вторая мировая). Латвия, в отличии от Литвы и Эстонии видимо не имели территориальных изменений со времен 1920х годов до наших дней.

Another detailed map from the same atlas. Germany in 1939. Like the previous map of Latvia, it shows the borders from the Russian civil war to the early 1939, when Germany took the Memel region, but Before USSR handed the city of Vilnius and its vicinity to Lithuania.

Еще одна карта из того-же немецкого атласа. Как и предыдущая карта Латвии, здесь показаны границы существовавшие в межвоенный период. А именно Мемельская область уже показана как часть Германии (март 1939) а Вильно и ее область еще небыли переданы Литве Советским Союзом (октябрь 1939).
