What do team members do
on the weekends? Friday is a day off, with
the exception of a team-wide evening vespers.
All team members are asked to spend at least two hours helping their
host families with work around the house. Often, group leaders will take students
shopping or facilitate social time in a park or with a host family. How old does one need to
be on the team? 16 years old for a team
member. 21 years old and a graduate of high school for a group leader. How much money can team
members make? Though much of this answer
will be up to your mastery of concepts and
approaches taught in training, most students typically earn anywhere
from $1500 to $3500 Where do team members
stay during the eight-week program? You will be matched with carefully
selected host families near to your ministry area. These families will provide
a bed for you to sleep in as well as bathroom facilities. Laundry facilities
will be available as well, but team members are asked to provide their own
detergent/bleach/fabric softener, etc. Who will provide food for
team members during the summer? Host families will provide
team members with a healthy breakfast. Members from local churches will provide
a lunch for team members at their worship site. Team members are asked to
provide materials for sack lunches for their evening meal. Who will provide
transportation for team members during the summer? Team members are asked only
to provide their own transportation at the end and beginning of the program.
During the program, all transportation will be provided by OYC team leaders and
approved staff. Team members are not asked and, in fact are discouraged, to bring
their own vehicles for the eight-week program Who can I contact to
