Chapter 2
Kristen went to work as usual the next day but was too nervous to concentrate on anything. Firstly her audition was tomorrow and also her potential roommate was coming around that evening to have a look around. Kristen just hoped that she got on with the girl. She liked living by herself but missed having someone to talk to when she got home from work. This got her thinking about boyfriends. Ryan had been her first serious relationship and it hadn’t really worked out that well. She decided to try and enjoy being single for a while. Her thoughts were interrupted by her boss telling her to move to help in the changing rooms. She sighed and walked to the changing rooms, she just wanted to go home and prepare for the next day.

Kristen sat watching the TV, not really paying attention to what was going on. She jumped when the doorbell rang, then quickly switched off the TV and walked to the door. As she opened it she saw a girl who looked about her age with blonde hair that rested on her shoulders, she was very pretty; in fact she looked a lot like Kirsten Dunst.
They chatted for hours and had clicked straight away. Hollie was 22 and worked as a waitress in a posh restaurant not far from Kristen’s apartment. Hollie was very impressed when she found out that Kristen was an actress, the way they talked you would have thought they had known each other their whole lives! She was originally from London and had lived there all her life, which worked out well for Kristen who still got lost in such a big city.
It was decided that Hollie would move in in two days, giving her time to pack up her stuff and say goodbye to her family.
As soon as Hollie had left, Kristen went straight to bed. She had to be up early to prepare for her big day tomorrow.

Kristen walked out of her audition smiling. She seemed to have impressed everyone and was very pleased with herself. There had been one little embarrassing situation that had occurred while she was there though!
*FLASHBACK*
Kristen had been sat in the large room full of the other hopefuls for about half an hour now. She decided to stretch her legs to prevent herself from getting cramp and having to hobble around like an idiot, so she stood up and went for a little wander around the room, looking at all the others practising their audition pieces. She nearly had a heart attack when someone suddenly tapped on her shoulder. After jumping about three foot into the air she turned around to meet those gorgeous eyes again. Once again she was mesmerized by him and there was a very uncomfortable silence that he eventually broke.
"I thought it was you when I saw you sitting down. It’s not easy to forget the face of a stranger who suddenly starts kissing you!" Kristen could feel her cheeks going bright red. All she could do was laugh sheepishly, until she finally had the courage to speak.
"Yeah….sorry about that…er….long story"
Dom looked down at the small section of the script that Kristen held in her hands. "I see you’re auditioning for the part of Rachel" Kristen nodded with a smile. "Well I’m up for the part of Jack." Kristen’s mouth went dry. Oh god! First I kiss a complete stranger, and then I find out he’s auditioning for the part of my boyfriend in a film.
"It’s my turn soon, I guess I’ll see you around. Maybe finish off that kiss!" he said while wiggling his eyebrows. Kristen couldn’t stop a laugh escaping her mouth. "Good luck" he said before turning and walking away.
"Yeah. Good luck" Kristen called after him as he turned and smiled at her one last time.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
Kristen was now on her way to her agent, Laura’s office to tell her how the audition went. Laura was more like a friend than just an agent and Kristen usually had a little chat with her after auditions.
"Hiya Laura!" Kristen said excitedly as she opened the door to her office.
"Hiya! So, how did it go? I’m guessing by the thrilled look on your face that nothing too bad happened!" Laura seemed just as excited as Kristen.
"It went so well! They all seemed really impressed and now I can’t stop smiling!" She replied beaming.
"Great! You’re a brilliant actress Kris, and you really deserve this" She smiled and hugged Kristen, who was so happy that she could cry tears of joy. After they both pulled away Kristen picked up her bag that she had placed on the floor earlier on.
"I guess I’d better get going seeing as it’s" She looked at her watch "1.45 and I haven’t had any lunch yet. Speak to you soon"
Laura said her goodbyes and Kristen walked down the street. She hadn’t bothered to use her car today seeing as the audition was only a five-minute walk from her house. She’d only been walking a few minutes when her mobile phone let out a noise. She pulled it from her bag to discover that she had a message from Ellie.
Hiya! I was just txting 2 c if u’re audition was over n c how it went. I’ll call u l8r luv El
Kristen was in the middle of texting back when she suddenly smashed into someone. "Sorry" she said without looking up.
"You again?!" Kristen recognised the voice immediately and raised her head. "You should really look where you’re going when you’re walking!" Dom continued.
"Sorry, I wasn’t concentrating"
"It’s alright, I was only kidding." He smiled "Well seeing as we keep bumping into each other, literally, maybe you’d like to get something eat. I mean unless you’ve already eaten." Kristen could have sworn she’d seen him blush as he asked her. She couldn’t help but smile as she answered.
"I’d love to." With that he led her to his favourite little café in London.
~~~~~~~~~~
"So tell me a bit about yourself, I guess you name would be a good start!"
Kristen giggled as she realised that neither of them had introduced themselves properly.
"Well, my name’s Kristen Hargrove and as you’ve obviously realised I’m an actress. I moved here last month, and…. I have no idea what else to say!" He gave her a million dollar smile and she felt her heart flutter.
"Where did you move from?"
"Liverpool" He nodded. She doesn’t sound it he thought to himself, as if she had read his mind she continued.
"I never really got the accent though. My dad doesn’t have it either, maybe that’s why." She was cursing herself inside for rambling on about things that he probably wasn’t even interested in.
"How about your mum?"
"I can’t remember her. She left us when I was one. She never wanted kids and I think she thought she was too young to look after one. Doesn’t matter anyway, I have a proper family now." It was Dom’s turn to curse himself now, he felt so stupid for bringing that up.
"Oh."
Kristen couldn’t stop herself from smiling as she saw the look on his face. He looked like a little kid who was about to be told off.
"So, tell me about yourself then. I need to know your name too!" He seemed to lighten up again once he realised that Kristen didn’t mind talking about her mother.
"My name’s Dominic Monaghan and I’m a…."
"WAIT!"
Dom nearly jumped out of his seat.
"What did you say your name was?"
He was so shocked at her little outburst that it took him a little while to think about what his name was.
"Erm…Dominic Monaghan" Kristen's face now had a huge smile plastered on it.
"Oh my god! My sister is gonna kill me! She is completely obsessed with Lord of the Rings and well, you mostly! She’d die if she knew I was talking to you." Dom now joined Kristen in smiling. "I can’t believe I didn’t recognise you!"
After eating their food and swapping their life stories, (not that he needed to tell her most things, as she had already heard them millions of times from Ellie!) Dom told Kristen that he had to go as he had a meeting with his agent.
"It was nice to meet you again Kristen" he said while they both walked out of the café.
"You too, Dom"
"Well, I guess I’ll see you around then" With that he shook her hand and walked away. Kristen was a little shocked, she didn’t know what she had expected, but it wasn’t for him to shake her hand. Just as that thought ran through her head she felt something in her hand. She opened it up to find a small piece of folded paper. She carefully unwrapped it and smiled when she saw what was written on it:
Call me! 634 9263
Kristen turned and walked home in the opposite direction, beaming as she went.
