Boats are built upside down on a series of molds, this Canoe had 7 molds, each plank is hand cut and plained to the shape of the hull.
It's hard to judge the sheer line(curve of the top plank) with the boat upside down, first time I get to see her right side up is when she is pulled off the molds. This one looks like very little adjustment needed.
This hull was designed by Walt Simmions, has lots of nice curves and note the flat floor which is actually the keel. Now the "Fun Part" starts, all those dark lines around the planks are excess epoxy which must be sanded and the only way to sand a lapstrake hull is by hand. It actually takes about a week of sanding on a hull like this before you can put on the final paint.
