Some tips about online relationships safety. I will not write out elaborate information about the safety, because there are a million sites out there that write about this stuff.
Always make sure that you do not give out any information until you deem the person you're talking to trustworthy
Always be honest with each other
Use webcams and microphones to establish the person's identity
Talk to friends and family of the person you're in a relationship with
Watch out for red herrings like procrastinating the meeting date, or buying a webcam/microphone
Ask for recent pictures, and use the webcam as often as possible
Set a meeting date, and tell your family and friends
