CONGRATULATIONS TO
           LOWELL!!!!!!

Lowell beats Camden in an exciting 7 game series to win their franchises' 2nd ever NRL title. Third year manager Mike Hamlet improved his team from 67 wins in 2005 to 105 wins in 2006.

In some ironic twists about this years' finals -
Lowell has only had two teams with a winning record in their history and both times,
         they won the league title.
Mike beat the manager who led the Lowell franchise to their other title - Earl Sweeney
         in the final
Lowell and Camden both improved by 38 games from 2005 to 2006
It was the first time in NRL history that two wildcards made the finals and the second
wildcard team to win the title
Lowell made Felix Hernanadez the #1 pick of the 2006 draft (via trade) and he was
         the game 7 winner.
Lowell's 21-3 win in game seven shattered the record for most runs and biggest margin
         of victory

Who we are

Welcome to the National Redraft League website!! Don't be intimidated by our name. It was a joke that stuck when the original members tried numerous times to assemble a balanced 16 team league. We are in our 11th season as a league. This league doesn't collect dues or give out prize money. It was built, developed and exists purely on the hard work, dedication and love of baseball of its managers. We are a 16 team league that uses the previous season's Diamondmind season disk. We have 2 eight team divisions and use the DH in both divisions. In our previous ten seasons, we had four playoff teams (2 division winners and top two records for the wildcards). This year we have expanded the playoffs to six teams with the division winners getting a first round bye.

The NRL was designed to give all managers a chance to be competitive, an easy basis to rebuild a team quickly and a set of rules that are easy to understand and follow. We have 30 man rosters during the season, then we cut to 20 players and have a 10 round draft during the off-season. We have a 150 at-bat /40 innings minimum in the draft which allows our drafts to be fully stocked each year. We have a 110% maximum usage for players with no minimum usage in place. This formula has been successful as 13 of the 16 franchises have made the playoffs in our history (one team had 5 winning seasons and the other twice won over 90 games but didn't make the playoffs) with seven different franchises have won league titles. We also have had 12 teams improve by 20+ games from one season to the next and 3 teams improve by 40+ games.

The NRL has had a rich history with many great games and memories that continues to grow each year. We currently have no vacancies but if you have a love of baseball and think the National Redraft League is of interest, please e-mail me at  seahawks@comcast.net  and I will put you on our waiting list.

                                Thanks,

                                                Earl Sweeney

This website is loaded with statistics. The league history page has playoff results, past drafts and  trades on it. The all-time player history page has career / season player records, MVP / Cy Young results and rookie of the year voting. The league stuff page has our current constitution, recent trades, rotations for the current month.  Each team page has the complete history and season / career records for each team. All league managers are encouraged to participate to additions to the website. Also - there are a couple pieces of information missing in our history mainly manager names during previous seasons. Current Standings

NRL NO-HITTER

Altoona's Ben Sheets no-hit the mighty Albany team in a 1-0 duel. Sheets had a perfect game through 8 innings. A lead off walk for Jeff Kent would be his only blemish. Tough luck loser Doug Davis gave up 5 hits and an unearned run.
