Just a real cool sculpt and rather fun to paint. I tried to make the paint on the scales as uneven as i could without it looking strange, i was going for a molted scale look. The halberd weapon was switched with an axe head and given a green sheen for that lizard-like look. This figure was heavily pinned to insure a solid construction. This was the first figure i mounted using cork and pumice gel for the base, i just love the way the base looks. |

A first attempt at using thin layers to build up highlights. I think the purple cloak came out pretty good for a first try. It proved to be a big break through on how i painted. Since the sword was so thin i painted it to have a worn and aged look. This was the first mini i entered into the Golden Toadstool compatition so he's kind of special to me, in that little bus way. |

This was an attempt at faux fur on a relatively smooth figure. It originally was a pre-painted Fading Suns figure that i stripped and repainted. I mounted it on a large square scenic base. This figure did take 3rd place in the Sci-Fi painting contest at Hexacon 14. In truth the sculpt doesn't truly look like a Vorox but close enough. |

I loved this mini the first time i saw it, then i came to hate the thing. Painted for my fiance's Arcanis character it fought me every step of the way, not a drop of paint when on smooth or easy. However she was happy with the end result even if i wasn't. |

Another figure for my fiance's Arcanis characters, this one a Dark-kin. The tail was made from a paperclip and greenstuff, the wings originally belonged to a warhammer gargoyle that i cut, pinned, and modified. She wanted the skin painted like the Warcraft Night Elf race. I'm happy with the look if not to thrilled with the purple skin. |

Yet another figure for the Fiance's Arcanis characters, this time her high level Elorii Sorcerous. This was actually the third mini painted for the same character, and the closest as far as outfits go. For some reason when i primed the figure it took on a fuzzy kind of appearance that caused the skin to go on kind of chunky no matter how thin i made the layers. The one thing that bothers me with this figure is that the gold tends to blend into the skin tone. |

As you can see i paint a lot for my fiance's characters. This is the current figure she uses for her high level Elorii sorcerous Dawn. I'm not sure why but once the base skin was added to the face the mini seemed to take on a gaunt tightness to the face. The purple and silver of the corset i think looks rather nice but i don't believe i got the right look to the staff, i was trying for an ash wood look. |
