Thankful Tutorial by Onefeather

This tutorial is a creation of my own. Any resemblance to another is purely coincidental.

Supplies Needed:

*** Paint Shop Pro.  I used version 7 but you should be able
to make this graphic in all versions.
You can get an evaluation copy HERE.

*** No outside plugins required

*** Tube of choice.  I am using a flower tube
(FlowersBSusan05~AL2006.psd) from Anita Lee Creations.
Anita has some wonderful free tubes! Please pay her a visit!

Extract the zipped file to a folder where you can conveniently find it again *L*

Ready?

Open the images you are going to use (or the contents of the zipped file) in PSP

Select the colors you wish to use, I used Colors - Colourize..H8 - S112 (#5F3125);
but please use the method you use comfortably.

#1 open SE Thankful Paper1 in psp
Right click on the layer palette and promote to layer
rename to thankful bg
colorize 8/112
effects / edge effects/ enhance

#2 Activate SE Thankful Paper2
Copy and Paste as a new layer onto your thankful bg image
rename Mask Layer

#3 Open TGMask01-tammy.jpg in PSP.
Activate mask layer
Masks - New - From Image
Locate TGMask01 from the drop down menu
Source Luminance (invert UNchecked)
Masks - Delete
Effects - Sharpen/Sharpen
Duplicate Mask Layer
*optional - add a drop shadow to the duplicate layer
I used 1v,1h, 100, 2blur, repeated using -1,-1, 100, 2

#4 Activate SE Thankful Frame, Edit/Copy ..
Activate "Copy of Mask" layer.
Edit/paste as a new layer.
Rename layer to "frame"
DONT PANTIC *L* we are going to resize it!
Resize frame layer by 80% (make sure ALL layers are unchecked)
Move the frame into place (I had to move mine over a few pixels to the right)
At this point, you can leave it offwhite, or colorize it.
**optional: SE thankful frame
hue saturation lightness
Edit Reds H -180, SAturation-100, Lightness 0
color-adjust brightness/contrast B-3, C 17

#5 Activate your frame layer on your main image
OPen the SE Thankful Labels in PSP
Choose which label you would like to use,
and use your selection tool to copy and paste it as a new layer above your frame layer.
Center the Label over the bottom of the frame (see Image above for placement)
Colors, Colorize H-8, S-112.
Resize your label by 90%.

#6 Open SE_flowers1 image in PSP.
Choose which flower you want
Edit Copy, Edit Copy and paste it as a new layer over your "label" layer.
Resize by 55%. Resize again by 55%.
Place the flower on the brad of the label. Duplicate flower layer.
On the duplicated layer - Image, Mirror.
Drop shadow each flower (same as in step 3)

#7 Open the image of your choice (I used FlowersBSusan05~AL2006.psd by Anita) in psp. Resize all layers by 55%.
Edit/Copy. Activate your "frame" layer.
Edit/Paste as new layer.
Drop shadow (same as step 3)
on layer pallete, select "luminance"
OPtional: at this point, you can use this as a template
for making multiple types of tags, or go on and add borders
as if you were making a main graphic for a webpage.

#8 Layers, merge all layers - flatten
double click your selections box
left 12, right 488,top 22,bottom 478
Image - Crop to selection

#9 add border 12 symetric #2C412E
Selections/Select all
Modify - Contract by 12
Selections - Invert
effects/tile effects/Preset - Dimpled Squares - default settings

keep selected
drop shadow 3/3/opacity 100 blur 8
repeat using -3, -3, 100, 8
keep selected
effects/edge effects/enhance
Selections/Select None

10. I used avantgarde bk bt 42 (bold) kerning -10
for my text "Blessings to You" and applied the same
tile effect on the letters as I did on the border.

That's it ... You are done!
File - Export - GIF or JPG, your preference
and dont forget to file - save as - psp file
