Because the club is made up of only bus drivers and working colleagues there is often not enough of them to book a venue or lake for the day. For this reason anyone can fish their matches so the club is effectively an 'open' Club. Membership to the Club depends on how often you fish the Musketeer matches! If you become a regular participant then you will be invited to join the club as a member. Preference to limited peg matches will be given to Musketeers members. The club would also like to see more women and children coming to their events and they try to issue pegs next to one another for father and son etc in order to help keep the day a great day out fishing for one and all. For each match held in the 2007 season the Metro Musketeers will be donating £1 per peg to their chosen charity (NSPCC) to be presented at the end of the season along with other monies raised from other charity matches they run. Money raised to date for charity £400. Anyone wishing to donate items for after match raffles or winning prizes would be most welcomed by the club and this will be noted on their web-site as well as mentioned on the day and in any any media coverage of the match. The club also have a monthly newsletter of approx 500 copies which are available to members, tackle shops and fisheries. They will advertise anyone's logo and details who sponsor items or monies for the club that month. There is also a quarterly magazine with all the latest match and news coverage for the club which is distributed to bus garages of approx 2,500 copies.
How do I book a place in a match?
By phoning match Secretary on 07506389772 - cost of entry is normally £12 or £13 plus optional pools
Are there any matches just for club members or are they all 'opens'?
Yes - there are 'members only' matches as well as 'opens'.
Does the club have annual meetings?
Yes - October/November.
Does the club have a 'Club Champion' or anything similar?
Yes - Annual points system.
What are the objectives of the club?
Monthly matches with 20+ anglers. Charity matches and events. Yearly dinner and drinks night as well as keeping a side of the club for drivers etc who don't catch much but still want regular days out and a chance of a trophy!. More importantly, to have a great day out and a fun days fishing at least once a month. If it's winning matches and collecting a brown envelope full of money then these matches are NOT for you!. Emphasis is on having a great day out, perhaps winning a few quid to cover your costs and maybe win a trophy for your efforts.

As from next season I have been given the go-ahead from Tetly to offer my services FREE OF CHARGE to any long standing Metro Musketeer members who want to improve their angling. This would probably involve a day out at your chosen venue to suss out baits, rigs, feeding, presentation etc.....The idea is to get you putting more fish on the bank which will ultimatly make your days out more enjoyable?. Obviously dates, times and venues can be sorted out in the long term. If your interested just drop me a line in the 'Guestbook' and leave your email address, or email me direct at mike.jameson@blueyonder.co.uk otherwise just see me on match days and we can talk about it. With a little bit of coaching you too could be putting a bag of fish together similar to this net of carp at Osprey Lake (picture) not to mention the 27lb of skimmers in the keepnet behind me!!
